My Own Collection Of Ready Made 1910's Styled Clothing
Here I am in May 2001, wearing my version of the titanic "swim dress" for my high school senior ball. I Used Simplicity8399.
When I first purchased this pattern I thought this was an exact copy but then was told you have to al lot of altering to get it to the movie gown. It is still a wonderful base to start with. Be sure to Read
My Swim Dress Story. This is My First Gown In My Collection that Someone Made For Me.
Here you can see the back of my gown. Sorry if the photos are dark but they were orginally taken in a dark room, and then when I re-capped it with my webcam it made it even more darker. I hope to have better pictures soon. For now though enjoy!
Here I am again in May 2004 wearing my Titanic Tea Gown. This gown was based off a real 1912 gown. I like the dress because of the color and the layers on the dress. When I wear this I feel like I have stepped back into time.
You can purchase these online, but I think it is more expensive to do so. I highly recommend that you purchase it in a store near you. If they do not have your size and color they can special order it for you and it wont cost extra for shipping. The store that I got it from did not have my size so I had to special order it and I did not have to pay shipping like I mentioned before. I also had the option of having the product sent right to my home, and thats where you would pay shipping.  There are many colors to choose from, so make sure you have seen every color, before you make your final choice. To see some colors click here , here. The dress does run small and should be ordered one size larger than your normal size.
The size I have is 1x and that just fits (it is a little tight at the bust area), and the color I have is lavender. I think this dress looks better when you wear a long line corset but it is not necessary though. The dress is expensive and runs from 145-300 dollars on the internet and in the stores I paid: 137 dollars and that was for a 1x. It is much cheaper to buy it in the stores so make sure you check the stores. In my opinion, it is worth every penny.
