well, don't really know what to say. i still can't believe everything that happened. don't really want to think about it either. all my family in DC is okay (thankgod) and as far as i know my one uncle is still at the pentagon fighting fires. i can't imagine how people more closely related to the situation feel. anyway, this song seems to go with the mood at the moment. . .
I can't believe the news today,
I can't close my eyes and make it go away,
How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long? Tonight we can be as one.
Broken bottles under children's feet,
Bodies strewn across a dead end street,
But I won't head the battle call,
It puts my back up, puts my back up against the wall.
And the battle's just begun,
There's many lost, but tell me who has won?
The trenches dug within our hearts,
And mother's children, brothers, sisters torn apart.
How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long? Tonight we can be as one.
Tonight, tonight.
Wipe your tears from your eyes,
Wipe your tears away,
Wipe your bloodshot eyes.
And it's true we are immune,
When fact is fiction and T.V. reality,
And today the millions they die.
The real battle just begun.
To claim the victory Jesus won.
On a Sunday, bloody Sunday,
Sunday, bloody Sunday.
-"Sunday Bloody Sunday" - U2
this whole devastation still seems like a bad dream or a movie to me. nothing to this extent has happened to my generation. my prayers go to everyone who has lost a loved one. i hope we find out who did this and kill-off their whole fucking country. . . take me home.
