Brooke, Tim and me had lunch at the Slickrock Cafe. It was very nice inside with the airco. We all ate a big burger with fries. Afterwards we went back to camp to see who was going to do the hike in Devils Garden at Arches Natl. Park. Tim, Denise, Charlie, Karin and Jess went shopping and the rest of us went hiking. We took our time going up to Double O Arch, because Kasia and Sanj took the long way around. We did arrive before them and went on top of Double O Arch. It was quite scary walking 20 feet above the ground on a small ledge across the arch. But the view was all worth it, I would definitely do it again. After a while Kasia and Sanj joined us too. But Kasia had a little accident on the way up. She had a gap in her head from an overhanging branch. So she did it easy on. We had it looked after at the ranger station and Tim(who is a dentist) took a look at it too. It turned out OK, but we had a bit of a scare. It took us about 75 minutes to get up to Double O Arch, but then Brooke had the idea to run back down to the van. We did it in about 20 minutes, it was fun jumping from one rock to another but the last part went up and down all the time and that was quite hard.
The fresh and cold water at the bottom was very refreshing!!!
For dinner we had a pasta plate with either cheesesauce or tomatosauce. After dinner we went a night on the town at Woody's, drinking some beer, playing pool or fussball. Some of the girls got lucky :-) and came back to camp very late. :-) |
