Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is a combat system of fighting. Combat is about the utilization of weapons not empty hands. Pekiti-Tirsia Kali follows the same characteristics of Filipino Martial Arts where weapons are instructed first then progresses into the advanced stage of empty handed fighting systems (boxing, kicking, grappling and groundfighting).
The system teaches weapons theories and principles through a "methodology" based on actual combat usage as a current point of reference differenciating the system from peace time or so called sport oriented martial arts to a progressive true fighting art.
2. History of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali
Pekiti-Tirsia System of Kali originates from Negros Occidental, Philippines and was formulated by the Tortal familt of Negros and Panay Islands. The family Patriarch, Conrado Tortal passed this system and its attributes onto his only grandson and its present guardian, Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje Jr.
