For one month -march 9th to April 9th, 2004- i didn't shave my face. This is the photographic result of that minimal experience, a sort of fotolog i guess.

If we had to fall into the commonplace of definitions , a regrettable fault of theoretical minds, it could be said that the bulk of JVM's work goes against what could be ordinarily termed "hobbie" or "Sunday culture". We define everytime we try to escape definition, here there is not exception to this essential rule of vital experiences. And in these contradictions is where you really find what matters.

JVM's newest JVM is a preliminary study for a still-in-the-wraps proyect called FORMATO_OFICIO, which involves three documentaries -that would be performed with other young documentary-makers - in digital format and that would be eventually shown along different cultural centers in the fifth region of Chile.

Also in the wraps is the project for a digital documentary named KINTUN that deals with the mapuche activities in the urban and national art context . Very soon in this website you will find a link with deeper references for this.

At the end of March 2004 the website "WWW.ELZOCALO.CL" will be launched in the net. This is a project coordinated with other makers of the fifth region, Chile; you will be interacting in a site devoted to massive culture and the arts, under the premise of breaking the rigid mold of ordinary chronicle writing. Current events, interviews, multi-disciplinary reviews, news about the latest art shows in the region and articles of interest. We'll be looking forward to your visit.
