Lord Let Your Glory Fall
Chambers dictionary defines revival as a return to life or strength. I couldn't agree more. I always like the scene described in 2 Chr 7:3. If you were to ask me what's a revival, this scene will come to mind. When I think of what happened then, I think of a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit...I think of what's tongues of fire coming down from heaven settling upon each individual present. I think of the majesty of God, and the compassion of Christ, sweeping searching thru each and every heart. Good Ol' Revival, eh?
Sometimes, we don't really understand revival. We see hundreds giving their lives to God each night at a fantastic stadium rally and we think that's revival. I think that's only bread crumbs that fell off our Master's table. True revival is when people are eating at a restaurant or shopping at a mall, and they suddenly began to weep and turn to their friends and say," I dunno what's wrong with me...but I've gotta get right with God now..." God can do so much more!! Don't limit God just because we're limited.
Too many a times, we aren't seeing salvations because there's too much of man and too little of God. We try to cramp doctrines down the throats of man. We rejoice because there's good music playing in the church. What if the preachers' gone and the music's turned stale? All these can't compete with God's presence. Do you really want people to come to church? Simple. They will come as long as the presence of God is there. Not because of man...or pleasing music to the ears... but a true and living God. He's looking for hungry people to recieve His presence. When He comes, we don't need any advertisments. People will come from far and near on any given night! Amen!
When the Glory of God comes and His presence settles in, we're changed from inside out. We get a glimpse of heaven, and boy...it's only but a glimpse. But that glimpse is life altering, its life changing.
For some, its a grace replacing all the sins they've divorced. Owners of Alcohol companies shut their factories down and dumped all bottles of whiskey away... Once Sin-clad men stood in front of the altar of God with tear-streaked faces... Of all that they've experienced, the best would be the forgiveness of sins and acceptance by God. They have been returned to life.
For others, it's being submerged in His Holy Presence. The pastor standing before his congregation, who've also been standing and clapping for hours now... some tearing, some smiling, all rejoicing. No one said a word as the applause continues to fill the church. Strength was secondary...they were empowered by the Holy Spirit. And with each clap, another victory was won over the devil...another captive being released
