| Are pictures blurry and distorted on your screen? If you're using AOL you can fix it - or if you don't want to mess with your settings, you can just use a different browser, such as Netscape or Internet explorer. If you don't have them on your computer, you can go to their websites and download them for free. **Note: Some of my pics will be blurry b/c of my crappy digital camera, but if pics are unusually blurry or distorted, then read on... AOL has a setting called "Compress Graphics" when downloading pictures from the Internet Unfortunately, AOL's default setting for this option is to enable Compression of graphics from the Internet This will cause some pics to become distorted and look blurry. The solution is to disable the "Compress Graphics" option. This is how to do this: --Close all your Internet Browser windows --Click on "My AOL" ("Settings" on newer versions or just use keyword: PREFERENCES --Click on "WWW" (Internet Properties) --Click on the "Web Graphics" tab --Uncheck the selection box next to "Use Compressed Graphics" by clicking on the checked box so that it is then empty.(or for newer versions, click on NEVER COMPRESS GRAPHICS --Now, clear your browser cache to remove the blurry pics from your browser memory. Do this as follows: ----Click on the "General" tab ----Click on "Delete Files" under "Temporary Internet files ----Click "OK" The blurry picture problem should now be gone. |
