The "goocher house" got us one last time. Today was moving day. Went to mom's to get computer, but could not get in. No electric. Cinergy had disconnected her rather than just read the meter! So...we could not get into the house! Front door key not working, garage door opener no use. Found a side door unlocked, but chain on. Luckily mom had a mini screwdriver and I was able to get my hand through the door to remove it. In the meantime, the snow was falling harder. Found the house ice cold. And poor puppy inside. While mom called Cinergy to beg to have the electric turned back on, I went downstairs. An Artic blast hit me. The move men had left the basement door wide open! Maybe someday, it will be funny. :-) |
