The meaning of the pentagram is not always the same. Also ifferent people give different meanings to it, weather or not depending on how it's being representated. The meaning may depend on how the pentacle is placed, and on it's symmetry.
A fully symmetric pentagram with one point straight up, represents the power of the spirit and the power of the 4 elements, all together in balance. Many people, especcially wiccans and pagans, see this representation of the pentagram as 'the good pentagram', wich represents positive energy.
The pentagram with one point straigt down, or a non-symmetric pentagram, represents spirit hidden in matter or the 4 elements unbalanced. It's sometimes also shown with the image of a devil drawn within the faced-down pentagram. To many people the face-down representation of the pentagram means negative or evil energy. It's mostly worn by satanist or devil-worshipers.
Also I look at the pentagram with these different meaning. Therefor, iff I use or wear a pentagram it will always have one point staight up. |
