The Skulls was filmed in Toronto – how do you find moving around from project to project?

I see it as one of the perks of my job.  It gives me a rather odd and unique glimpse into places I would otherwise never see.  I probably would never have been to Minnesota or had the occasion to be in oston or even Toronto.  Life is made up of different experiences, and the more you can have, the better.

 

Your chanracter Luke is extremely athletic – hero of the rowing team – do you think you’ll ever use your rowing skills again?

When you learn something new for a film, uou use it again to varying deegrees.  And I find, actually, that rowing is a very good way for tall, lanky guys like myself (I disagree about lanky!) to stay in shape, so I have one of those rowing machines that I still practise on at home.  I came to appreicate the level of physical fitness that rowers have while I was doing this movie.  These guys are in phenomenal shape.

 

What’s the story about Leslie Bibb biting you by mistake during the stamy shower scene?

By mistake? I don’t think so! Well, we were doing the scene in the shower and were kissing and it was getting quite passionate and, just for giggles, she decided to take a piece of my lip with her, though I probably deserved it!

 

Do comical things often occur during dramatic scenes in Dawson’s Creek?

The whole situation is quite funny, to tell you the truth, because those are the most private moments of your life and you’re supposed to be whispering sweet nothings to each other.  Wll, you try doing that in front of 75 guys! They must be thinking “Look at this jack-ass! I can’t believe he’s gonna do that on television.  How embarrassing!”  So I crack up laughing all the time.

 

You haven’t had a full-on butt-naked sex scene in a movie yet – how do you think you’d fare?

I’d be willing to go along with that.  Absolutely!

 

Is there anything you wouldn’t do on-screen?

It depends on the situation.  There are a few things that make me feel uncomfortable when I read them, but I generally try not to make decisions where I absolutely won’t do this or that.  The whole point is that you show the charater in their situation and you have to disconnect any apprehension you have yourself.

 

Didn’t you have your car broken into recetly too?

I was camping and I have everything taken from the back of my truck.  It was right before my birthday so it sucked. (awww!) The good news is that although they took about 160 CDs and all my camera eqipment, they actually returned my journal and personal stuff to the police and I was able to replace everything else.

 

Would you say that you’re materialistic?

I try not to be.  I sometimes stop myself and ask, “why do I care? Why am I interested in what other people have?” But it can be so tempting.

 

Ok, we gibe you $500 to spend this afternoon, what would you buy?

I think I’d go right to the CD store.  Music just soothes the soul.  As a layman, I have only a basic appreciation of music, but it amazes me how much your emotions can be swayed by music.  Right now I’m listening to a lot of Ben Harper.

 

What are you passionate about?

I’m mostly passionate about life.  I’m just so happy to be alive with so many opportunities out there.

 

What would hurt you the most?

To my have freedom inhibited in any way.  The freedom to backpack for a month and a half, or the freedom to express my beliefs, or the freedom to choose.  I think that would be very damaging to me.

 

Do you ever worry that you’ll never be able to shake off Pacey?

If I can get better as an actor then I don’t think that I should have too many problems.  However, if I keep on playing Pacey, things might be difficult.

 

What would you like to see happening to Pacey om the future?

Everytime he does something different, he keeps on growing, so as long as it doesn’t get repetitive or boring then I’m up for it.
