This is an “fantasy date” with Josh…

Okay Josh, where does our fantasy date start then?

Well, seeing as I’m a bit of a romantic, I think we should start in the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited.  It’s a beach in Canada, and it’s the most perfect place to watch the sun go down.

It sounds heavenly – a very dramatic way to start our first date

Definitely, but we need to have some fun, too.  So we should jet over to England for a night out in London first.

Good idea!  So you’re a big London fan, then?

Oh yeah! When I was over last year I had the best time.  It was quite wild, but I loved it because everyone was so friendly.  I don’t think I brought a drink in a whole week.

So in London, I’ll be at my flat, and you’ll be at your hotel getting ready…

I’d come and pick you up from your place in a taxi

What should I wear?

I’d just love to see you in whatever you feel most comfortable in

What do you fancy eating?

Do you like sushi?

I love sushi! Are you an expert with chopsticks? And will you be talented enough to feed me?

Yeah, I’m pretty good.  Is that an invitation?

Definitely.  So are we having a good time?

Sure! We’re having such laugh chatting to people, but we’ve also got time to talk one on one

Are you nervous? Do you need to go to the bathroom to check your appearance?

No, I can just look at your face and it’ll tell me how well – or badly – I’m doing

Oh look, I’ve dropped sushi on my white top.  How are you going to make me feel less embarrassed?

I’ll just have to drop some on my shirt too (I faint right about now)! Anyway, we’ve really enjoyed our dinner, so now we’ll hit some bars.

But I don’t want to go anywhere you’ve been with other girls

We won’t! Mainly because I haven’t spent enough time in London to have dated there

What sort of bar are we going to?

We’ll find a cool Irish bar for a pint or two, because my mum’s from Ireland

Are we nice and relaxed with one another?

Well, dates are pretty nerve-wracking events, but I think we’re both working on making each other feel comfortable

But its been quite a long night – I’m getting tired

Well, then I’ll have to take you home.  Shall we order a cab?

Oh look, we’re outside my place now.  As everything’s gone so well, are you going to lean forward and kiss me?

Chances are, yes!

A gentle peck or something a bit longer?

Well, it’ll be spontaneous.  But as we’ve both enjoyed ourselves so much, it might be quite a kiss!

OK, I have to go.  What are you going to do?

Well, the kiss has made me want to see you to your door and try for another, but I think the sweetest thing I an do is peck you on the cheek, say thanks for a lovely evening, then call you tomorrow.

Wow, you’re going to call me tomorrow! Can I ask for your number, or is that being too forward?

Yes it is…but I like it! Forward is good – far too many opportunities are missed in life.  I love girls calling me, and I can’t tell you what a relief it is not to have to do all the running.

But is tomorrow too soon? Will I look too keen?

No…it’s so exciting! If you’ve had a really nice date with someone and they call in the morning, it really makes your day.

Will we go out again soon?

Yeah, we could go out with my friends or yours.

So would you be happy to meet my mates so soon in our relationship?

Yeah, definitely – its good to have early dates with lots of people, it’s a great way to find out about someone.

You’re a real romantic, aren’t you!

No! But I might even send you some flowers after our successful date.  Well I think it was a success

It definitely was.  Hope to see you again Josh.

Me too
