What is the "Show About Nothing"?

"NBC asked if I had any ideas for a show, and I said no. They sent me away to think about it. Then, a month or two later, I bumped into Larry David (co-creator/executive producer/writer) at one of the clubs in New York and I was telling him about the meeting. We were walking around near one of those little Korean fruit stands that they have in New York, buying some late night groceries, and we were making fun of some of the products there. Larry said, "You know, this is what the show should be: just two comedians making fun of stuff, walking around talking. That was the premise we started with." – Jerry Seinfeld on the birth of Seinfeld.
Seinfeld, the Emmy Award-winning comedy series, stars multi-award winner Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York city is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life's most perplexing, yet often trivial questions.
Seinfeld, often described as "the show about nothing", explores the mundane situations in life which provide humour when viewed from afar: things like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating.
The series co-stars Tony Award-winner Jason Alexander as George - Jerry's shirt-off-the-back, go-the-extra-mile, anything-for-a-pal, please-love-me best friend; Saturday Night Live alumnus Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine - Jerry's purely platonic, but still very close ex-girlfriend; and Michael Richards as Kramer, Jerry's slightly off-the-wall, but not quite over-the-edge neighbour, who is as devoted to him as a "roadie is to a musician."
