Music of the 1950's
Elvis Presley was probably one of the most popular entertainers of his time. his impressive hits like Jailhouse Rock made him a star, and the idol of many young men. Many artists today try and have the same swagger and style that Elvis displayed on the stage.
Frank Sinatra was also a very popular artist in the music business. He along with Nat King Cole was one of the most popular so called "Crooners" of the time. Frank was possibly on of the most highly praised male vocalists of all time. Many people believe that Frank Sinatra's vocals will never be matched, but his character off the mic has influenced many artists.
Nat King cole was not only a famous African American singer, but he was a great Jazz Musician also. he based some songs his songs on black fold tales. During the 1950's eh introduced hit after hit, including "If I May," and "Smile." His music still influences jazz musicians today.
The saxophone became very popular during the 1950's. And it is still used today in every jazz studio across the world. As a key element to jazz music, it was played to many great jazz musicians such as Nat King Cole.
