"Justin, please don't, your making me nervous." The parents had left a few hours earlier, and now a very drunk Justin had cornered her on the deck to talk to her.
"And your making my heart break." He stammered, keeping her pinned in the corner.
"You did the same to me. You think I wanted you to be an asshole to me? You think it was easy to walk away from you when I really wanted to stay?" She narrowed her eyebrows at him, letting the alcohol take over her senses.
  "Then why did you?"
"Because I had to, you are just too much to handle." She tried to push his arms from the walls, where they were blocking her from leaving, but didn't succeede.
"Jaden, I told you I was sorry, what do you want me to do? Get on my knees and beg?"
"No, you'd just embarass yourself. There is nothing you or I can do, it's over." She tried again to move his hands, tired of looking at his heart broken expression.
"Don't say that, it's not over." He assured her, trying to catch her eyes with his.
"Justin, has anyone ever told you you're persistant?"
"Not lately, but then again I haven't had you around."
"Justin, the guys are bound to come by here at any minute, would you mind letting me go?"
"The guys are asleep. If I let you go will you stay and talk to me?"
"Of course." He dropped his hands, then watched her as she took a seat in a chair, giving him an expectant glance.
"Thank you." He took the seat next to her, turning it to face hers.
"Thank you for letting me go."
"Sorry about that, you just keep avoiding me."
  "There's a reason for that."
"What is that Jaden? Am I that horrible of a person that you can't bear to sit and talk to me?" He threw his hands up in the air, letting a hint of anger touch his voice.
"No, it's just hard to have you around me. It'd be a hell of a lot easier if you stopped trying to talk to me about this stuff." She stood ready to return to the house when Justin gently guided her back to the chair.
"You're right. It would be easier if I let it alone, besides we will probably have to see each other a lot." He dropped his head, thinking if flowers would help her reconsider.
"For a while at least, next month I go on tour again."
"Thier going on tour already?" He refered to the band she had been working for on her last tour.
"No Johnny has designated me tour stylist. He doesn't find many stylist willing to leave their families for extended period of times, so I will be doing as many of the tours as possible."
"Do you know if you will be doing our tour again?" Fear, excitement, and pleasure mixed in his voice.
"I doubt it, your tour proved to be painful for me." She motioned to her lower back with one hand, letting him know it wasn't only her heart she was talking about.
"Oh yeah, I guess not then." He rubbed his forehead in frustration, he was supposed to be able to hold her by now in his eyes. By his plan she was supposed to lay eyes on him, realize how much she missed him, then jump into his waiting arms. That was why he had made a point of being the one to pick her up.
"I am going to get another drink." She held her glass up to prove her point, as tears formed in Justin's eyes.
"I'll get it, you stay here." He pulled the glass from her hand and was in the house before she had a chance to tell him no.
"You'll be the death of me." She whispered to his retreating figure, sure he hadn't heard her.
"Here you go." He handed the drink to her, settling into his chair with his own.
"Thanks." They sat in silence for a few minutes, each trying to think of something more to say.
"Jaden, do you ever think I would be worth all the drama?" His low shaken tone almost scared her after the long silence. She let the words run over in her head once more, trying to tell him the right words.
"Justin, you always were worth the drama. It's just not something I can deal with right now, and probably not ever. It's not just your fault this happened."
"Yes it is. I was the one who threw a fit not vise versa." He pulled one of her feet into his lap, removed the shoe, and began rubbing it, after she had given a fight of course.
"I don't know Justin, I just don't know what to say to you anymore." She let her head fall against the chair in defeat, hoping with every ounce of her body he would leave her alone.
"Don't say anything, we can just sit here." He continued rubbing her foot, feeling for one brief moment that nothing had changed at all, and soon she would say she loved him.
"I should get some sleep." She stood and returned her shoe to her foot nearly a half hour later.
"Yeah me too." Justin showed her to the room designated to be hers for the night then went to his own.
"What the hell am I doing here?" She glanced at herself in the mirror, disgusted with the apparently drunk image. "Down the hall from Justin, what was I thinking?" She quickly exited the room in search of a phone to call a taxi on. Finally she located one in the living room, along with a phone book.
"What are you doing?" Justin entered the room from the connecting  kitchen to find her flipping through the book.
"I'm calling a taxi." She informed, not gaining the courage to look up at him as he took the steps to her side.
"No you are not." Justin set a hand on hers to keep her from flipping the pages any longer.
"Justin, I think I am old enough to decide when to go home on my own."
"Jaden, please stay, I won't bother you anymore."
  "Promise?"
"Yes." He showed her to her room once more, walking to his own then listening for any movement in hers.

"Thank you for the ride." She opened the car door, calculating the time until she could get a shower and change of clothes. Had she known before hand she would be staying the night at JC's she would have brought them with her.
"Your welcome." He walked her to her door, lightly kissing her cheek before turning to leave the porch.
"Hey Justin, friends isn't so bad." She waited for him to turn back to her.
"Your right, it's better than never speaking again."
"I'm glad you feel that way, I'll see you later." She turned the key in the lock, opening the door.
"Definiately." He smiled up at her watching her take one step into the house then turn back.
"Be careful, I wouldn't want anything to happen to my friend." She smiled at him in a way he hadn't seen in far too long.
"Friends isn't bad at all." He waved then jogged to his car, also in need of a shower.
"Maybe you won't be the death of me." She leaned against the now closed door, thankful all had turned out well.
