| "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, please, come back." She set the magazine she had been reading on the bedside table, and looked down at him. Hoping he would rest peaceful after a few seconds. When tears began to make trails on his skin, she knew she had to wake him up. "Justin, hey, wake up, baby." She set a hand on his shoulder and shook him gently. "No, please don't." "Hey, sweetie, come on." His body rocked from her increasing pressure. "Oh." He panted a few times before opening his eyes. "You were having a nightmare." She brushed a sweaty strand of lose hair back. "Michelle, please, I am so sorry." He caught her eyes, and she knew more tears were waiting to fall. "Babe, you were dreaming, you didn't do anything, it was all a dream." Kissing his forehead lightly she hoped to calm him down. "But, it, don't.." When the words wouldn't come to him, he closed his eyes in defeat. "You okay?" Her hands ran across his chest in a soothing manner. "No, I didn't want to, I just couldn't move." His hands grabbed hers, and he looked so intently at her, she wanted to cry with him. "Ok, just tell me your dream?" When he wouldn't let her hands move, she settled for a pleading look. "It's not the dream, what if you would have ridden with me today?" "Babe, accidents happen, it wasn't your fault." "No, it was my fault, it was my fault you were ever at that shop today." The tears were welling up in his eyes. "No, Babe, calm down, everyone is okay. It doesn't matter why this and why that. It just matters that you and me are here to hold each other tonight." Speaking the words was the easy part, convincing him was another story. He turned his eyes from her for a second to control the tears, then returned his gaze. "You don't understand what I am saying." "Then what are you saying?" Again she tried to pull her hands from his grasp to run them along his face, but he wouldn't allow her. "I need you." The words weren't all he meant to say, she knew it. "To do what?" He released her hands to take her face in his hands. "I want you to..." Hanging on his every word, she shook her head for him to continue, but he didn't. His chest was still heaving from the fright of the dream, and the words didn't sound right to him. "Babe, please tell me." Anticipation was making her tremble. "Say you love me, too." He looked right into her eyes, hoping she would mean it, that she wouldn't be scared, or flabergasted. "I love you, too." A tear fell from her eye, and he knew she was geniune. He pulled her closer and cried into her hair, but finally tears of joy, after an emotional day. |
