Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith
Played by George Peppard, Hannibal was the leader of the A-Team.  Being the oldest and highest rank, he always came up with the plan that The A-Team would use.  He was always looking out for the team, yet he had quite a sense of humour.  Even if he was tied up and had a gun pointed at him, he would still crack jokes at his enemy.  He was rarely seen without a cigar, and often wore a tan raincoat.

George Peppard was born in 1928.  Before starring in The A-Team, he was in such films as Breakfast at Tiffany's, Pork Chop Hill and Blue Max.  After smoking for many years, he had a cancerous tumour removed from his lung in 1992.  Sadly, he passed away in 1994.

Sergeant Bosco "B.A." Baracus
B.A., named for his bad attitude, was the A-Team's main muscle and mechanic.  When not punching out the bad guys, he would be welding together something for the A-Team to use, or driving the team around in his van, which he loved.  He also had a soft side - he loved kids and volunteered his spare time at the youth centre.  He was afraid to fly, so everytime the team needed to fly they would drug him, often putting drugs in his milk, which they knew he loved to drink.

Mr. T was born in 1952.  He was first noticed in 1976 when he appeared as Clubber Lang in the film Rocky.  Mr. T had a very unique way of dressing - he would wear oddly coloured clothes and shoes, and also different coloured socks.  His reason was that he wanted people to make fun of his mismatched socks, and not those of children who actually could not afford new socks.  He was known for his huge gold chains and jewellery, which he wore while playing B.A. Baracus.  He obtained his first chain in 1976, and added to his collection over the years.  Worth approximately $300,000, his gold weighed about fourty to fifty pounds, and took him about an hour to put on each day.  He sometimes slept with it on at night to feel what his slave ancestors felt like, having iron chains attached to them.  After the Hurricane Katrina disaster of 2005, Mr. T got rid of all of his gold, because it would be an "insult to god".

Lieutenant Templeton "Faceman" Peck
The Faceman ran all of the scams and cons for the A-Team.  As Murdock put it in one episode, "he can extract the answer yes from anyone, without ever having asked the question".  He was called the Faceman because of his face, and most women liked him instantly.  This worked to the A-Team's advantage (usually) when he needed to scam a plane, car, or a place to stay.  He always dressed classy and tried to stay as clean as possible, often wearing a suit and tie.

Dirk Benedict was born in 1945.  Before the A-Team he was on Battlestar Galactica in 1979, playing Lieutenant Starbuck.  He was diagnosed with cancer, and instead of receiving treatment, he moved into a cottage and followed a strict macrobiotic diet, which apparently cured him.
Captain H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock
Murdock was the pilot for the A-Team.  He was not considered an actual member of the team, therefore he was not wanted.  He was a mental patient at the V.A. hospital where he stayed.  When he helped out the team, he would often break out of the hospital for a few days.  He always wore a dark blue ball cap, Chuck Taylor Converse shoes, high-water khakis, and usually sported a t-shirt with a funny slogan on it.  He also always wore his brown leather jacket, which said "Da Nang 1970" on the back.  While Murdock got along with everybody, he also enjoyed acting crazy around B.A. to drive him nuts.

Dwight Schultz was born in 1947 and spent many years in acting before being on The A-Team.  He had a role on Star Trek The Next Generation, and also has contributed his different voices to video games.  In 1984, he married Wendy Fulton, who guest starred in the episode "Bounty".
