| Personal things: Hello. My name is Justin Keyes(That's not my real name, but for those of you who know me, you know my real name). This site was constructed because of the excessive boredom that I experienced during my summer vacation. Other than my SAT vocabulary, my trig and Chinese lessons, I didn't have that much time left to do much of anything. When I do have free time, I love to design and constuct siege engines. Siege engines are large machines that are used to take down walls, gates or people. When I do get on the computer, I like to chat to friends. Isolation from the outside world sends me into a state of great despair. I mumble ancient languages mindlessly when I am really bored. I really love to talk to others about all kinds of issues that are be on their minds. I'm not a great therapist, but I like to help them when they are gloomy. Ever since sixth grade, when I was introduced to Warcraft II, I have been fascinated by knights and their deeds of zeal. I love knights, but not as most would imagine. Most people think of knights as ferocious crusaders wielding swords, lusting for the blood of a terrified Saracen. Most people love knights for their valor and honour in war. I love knights for the code that they follow. Especially those who are extremely devout to their King and their God. Although this code was often broken in wartime (most knights ignored their lord's wishes and charged before command just to get a first kill), when war was less frequent, this code was followed in a different manner. This code of chivalry was a rule that all the warriors of rank had to follow. Chivalry, when followed in war, was a code that they would fight for honour(meaning not striking down civilians or unarmed soldiers) and glory(striving for victory). In peacetime, this code implied that these warriors were honourable as well as friendly to women and clergy. This I find is very cool. Another thing that I love is the island of Great Britain. For those who know me, I have a great love for that land, as well as for her Queen. I also love the way that they talk. As many, I was immediately fascinated by the British accent. This led me to do research and find out more about this love. Now, for many of my close friends, this love has become an obsession. I have been known to interrupt conversations with "God Save the Queen!" or "Long Live the Queen!". For some friends, they find this weird; for others, it's OK. I consider myself an Anglophile and never give up a chance to get myself close from British influences. I know that I will get a lot of bad replies from those who think that the British are stingy imperialist pigs. I understand where that might come from, but that doesn't discourage me from loving the British culture. They may have been bad in history (From the slaughter of 2700 civilians by King Richard I at Acre to the imperialist conquest of the Americas and Asia), but that doesn't make them bad now. As long as they don't commit some wicked atrocity in the future, I don't see any reason why anyone would hate their culture. Those who refuse to forgive them for their past actions are prejudice because they think their past actions will also reflect their future actions. I think it's sad that people think this way. The only thing that I have love for almost as much as the obvious (family, friends and England) is animals. I have always loved animals ever since I saw my first koala at the zoo. Koalas are one of my favourite animals. I also love tigers and dinosaurs(though I have never seen a dinosaur at a zoo). OK. That's all I have to say about myself. This is my first page and I know it's really poor looking. Please help me improve by telling me what I can do to ameiorate it. Please don't tell me anything I already know (eg. Your site @%#^#%!!!) Thanks. BTW, I also like to write. :-) |
