The History of The Dinos
The History of the Dinos is based on partial truths from France and England. However, most names have been changed and are not necessarily  the real names of these people or places if the events suggest that they are. Some characters have historical counterparts while others are made up. The same goes for events. Some have actual events that the stories were based on. Others were simply made up to make the story more interesting. Almost all the "facts" are made up, and should not be used for history reports, historical reference or anything of that sort. This story sounds a bit childish, because it was written a few years ago. It wasn't until recently that I was able to put it online...
Darkness in Europe...
Violent waves splash the peaceful coasts of Angleland as a tide of sailors board the shores. These sea faring soldiers landed their longboats on the shores and quickly move inland. The year is 806; the Vikings have just landed on the coast of England. The coast is quickly made their own by these zealous warriors. This attack was only one of the many raids made by the Vikings during the Dark Ages.
As the community grew large and farms were well established, the sons of these high ranking warriors were sent to the other parts of Europe. One son was sent to Ireland, one to Scotland, one to Gaul, one to Spain, and the rest to other faraway places. By the 11th century, the various groups have all grew into their own powerful tribes. Europe was divided into 5 large kingdoms: Britannia, Scotland, Gaul, Spain and Italy. Because the civilization in Britannia had been the earliest, it was the most powerful. Gaul had been very close and its power was also growing. Scotland was far north and had only been affected a little bit, but its power was still great. With relations failing, the kingdoms became rivals.

The Conquest...

Year 1334. The doctors are crowded around a small room. Tapestry lined the walls of the ailing Scottish King. The King was injured during a recent battle on the Borderlands. The tensions between the Britons and his people have been growing. The young queen, holding a baby with her young daughter beside her, sits and waits on the doctors. A month has passed since his last battle with King Gregory of the Britons. His doctors said the only thing to do now was to pray. Another gloomy month passed before the King died. Complete anarchy spread across the land. The young queen had no power to rule and quickly fled.
King Gregory, at the time was in the prime of his life. Enthroned at 15 years old, he was a strong warrior, considered a hero by many. With news of the recent death of his strongest adversary, he amassed an army of five thousand swordsmen and bowmen. He marched along to the King's castle and decided to besiege it. If he succeeded, he would be the king of the largest kingdom since the the Roman Empire.
When he reached the castle, he was in shock. He expected a large army garrisoned, but instead of an army of soldiers, he found a legion of peasants mining at the castle. Apparently, they were taking the stones for their own buildings. When Gregory approached to take the castle, the villiagers realized that he was coming to rule over them again. A peasant called upon the others and they all raised their digging tools to go after King Gregory. He called his swordsmen and archers and rode back to see the battle. Within a few hours, all the buildings and peasants had been toppled or killed. It was the easiest victory ever.
A quiet home in the fields of Scotland....
turned into a base for the invading Bearish Army
The mighty Bears practice their skills on a building.
The first use of a trebuchet in battle was during this siege.
When Gregory entered the castle, he expected the queen and her guards to surrender immediately, but instead of surrendering, Gregory found the castle empty. The tresury and armoury were still full and so were the kitchens. The queen, princess and the Imperial Guards had escaped through a sally port and boarded a ship out to sea. Gregory calculated that they had about a days travel already, so he gave up catching them.
The Franks...

The queen and the princess landed on the shores of Gaul and camped out for the night. It had been almost a month since anyone had seen land. They wanted to travel to Spain, where the Bears could not get at them, but they ran low on supplies and had to land in Gaul. The Guards scouted the land in search of civilization. Soon, they discovered a small manor. This manor belonged to a young lord, by the name of Aaron. It wasn't until later that they found out he was Prince Aaron, and that his father, King Chester was also living nearby. Aaron promised to allow the royalty to stay at his castle as long as they paid a fee. Since the Imperial Guards were of no use to a queen without a kingdom, this became the payment. She swore her troops in to join the Dinos. Of the Guards were several archbishops who brought religion into Gaul. Soon after the queen arrived, Chester gave the queen a title of Lady
