The Bearish
Hall of Heroes
The Bears' side to the story. Written entirely by Bear scholars. No one knows if these are true, but hey, who really cares?
Gregory Conners, King
When Gregory Conners first discovered Bearland, he didn't expect to start a new kingdom.  He was only looking for a new, peaceful home in which he and his wife could live in. However, many animals, with the same thought in mind, decided to settle the new land.
Soon, Greg's wife gave birth to a huge, brown bear.  She had difficulties, considering the size of his head, but they both survived.  They named the bear John.
By now, bears were the most common species. The citizens of the land (pop. 12) chose Greg as their King, for he was the first to settle, and he was fair.  He took on the job enthusiastically.
Then, tragedy struck. Shortly after giving birth to their second bear, (Kert Conners) Greg's wife died.  The country (named Bearland by then, pop. 21) fell into a state of great despair.
As John and Kert grew up, they both became bored of this land, and split up.  John went to live in Dolphinland, a small peaceful island ruled by the Dolphins; Kert to Dinoland, then newly discovered. This drove the country into even deeper despair, for now there would be no heir to the throne.
However, with the help of a peasant-dog Robin and a mysterious sorceress by the name of Katelina, Greg rules the land with very little trouble, an exception being the few battles they had with the Dinos.

The king, sitting on his fine throne.
Robin smiles for the camera as she sits on a piece of sandpaper.
Robin Whitney, Assistant General

In war, Robin Whitney, formerly a simple stray peasant-dog, will be heard yapping and snarling, her thick claws piercing all but the thickest armor.  She is a loyal servant to the true king of Bearland, Gregory Conners.  She has been known to destroy whole armies single-pawedly.
In peace, Robin has the title of "Royal Pet," but the locals know better. She often helps the king plan, rule, and prosper.  She is as tame as a lamb in peace, and will sometimes give younger members of the enemy doggy-back rides!  She is treated with great respect.  She admits, "I never realized I could achieve so much in so little time.  My family would be proudo f me.  Oh.  Wait.  I never had a family, did I?"  She shrugs and smiles for the camera.

Quote: What did I say when I sat on the sandpaper?  Nothing. I couldn't feel a thing.

Katelina, living like a queen.
Katelina, Sorceress

Katelina, Oreonistein, and Nicole lived together, once upon a time. They shared a secret--- they knew magic.  One day as they ate, Katelina, the youngest, let out a long, mournful whine.
" Hush, kitten. And go back to eating Kit-Kats," said Nicole, who always acted like her mother, though she was not.
" I can't hush, Nicole! I 'm tired of this place! I keep telling you, I want to go to Bearland!"
Nicole and Oreo were shocked, but ready for this situation.
"Oreo, clear the fur coats closet and everything. Give the Kit-Kats to Kat!" roared Nicole.
Within minutes, Kat had everything she needed.
" Good-bye," said Oreo, sounding very much like the host on "Weakest Lnk."
Kat walked for many days and nights, until she came to Bearland.  She passed by Robin, the guard dog, who smiled at her.  Finally, she met the King.
"What is your name?" asked Gregory, the King.
     "My name is Kat."
"You are to remove your hat and tell me your name."
"My name is Katelina, the mystic sorceress.  I have come for a job in Bearland."
And so ends the tale, the tale of how Katelina became the second Royal Pet.

Quote: My name is
not Kat in the hat.

Kat, with her hat dyed red, and decorations removed.
Joey Ages, Knight
Joey Ages came from a wealthy family.  When he was but a young kitten, both his parents ran off, just disappeared into the night, leaving young Joey and his older brother Matt to run the home.  He was training as a page then, and Greg pitied him, so he allowed the young kit to stay with him.
When Matt realized he was not to live with the king, he was shocked. He immediately ran off to Dinoland where he still lives today, avoiding Joey as much as he can.
Anyway, Joey trained many years, fighting in many wars.  He soon became very popular, almost as popular as the king! The king didn't mind this a bit, because now that Joey had grown older and wiser, he became the king's personal advisor.
Joey now lives in Olde Dinoland, which Greg has conquered.

Quote: I am Sir Joey the Lionheart!!!

Joey, the most trusted knight of Bearland, in light clothings.  He is rumored to have the heart of a lion.
