The Honorary Title - Everything I Once Had Everything I You were everything I Once had The bar on first avenue We went there solely for you So you could flirt with my best friend Kiss a girl and tell me why you're laughin' I won't hold on I can't hold on To this There's a hole In the trust that we Mapped out in my bed For six long months There's a hole In the trust that we Mapped out in my bed... For six long months... For six long months... Well I won't hold on... To this... February, Valentine's Day, Did my best to avoid the red cliché So you dumped me on the subway On my way to work at nine in the morning Everybody else is holding bouquets Now I'm holding my face in the basement Scratching away for any trace Of affection you will leave Falling victim to the publics prey Well I won't hold on No I can't hold on I won't hold on To this There's a hole In the trust that we Mapped out in my bed For six long months There's a hole In the trust that we Mapped out in my bed... There's a hole In the trust that we Mapped out in my bed For six long months [I won't hold onto this!] There's a hole [Anyone] In the trust that we [Is suitable] Mapped out in my bed [For you, I] For six long months [For you, I guess, tonight] There's a hole [Anyone] In the trust that we [Is suitable] Mapped out in my bed... [For you, I guess] [You were unfazed] [It's over with] [You my beautiful] [You were unfazed] [It's over with] [You my beautiful] [Your beautiful blue and white] [Your beautiful blue and white] REASON: June was painful. On May 30, my girlfriend of eight months called me at about 5:30pm, waking me up (I had played DnD the night before). We chat for a minute, and then she says, "I want you to come over to pick up your stuff and give me my ring back." I tried to convince her not to break up with me, but she wouldn't listen. I drove over, and just before I got to her house, it really hit me that I wasn't going to get to see her again, or be friends at all. This person that I loved was just suddenly leaving my life, odds are for good. Having just gone through with graduation two weeks before (which was depressing enough), all the stress suddenly hit me. It wasn't pretty, we'll leave it at that. June was a rough month, starting with a week of insomnia, but these lyrics really spoke to me, especially the second verse. This is a great break up song, in case a relationship of yours goes sour.
