Brandi Carlile - The Story All of these lines across my face Tell you the story of who I am So many stories of where I been And how I got to where I am But these stories don't mean anything When you've got no one to tell them to It's true I was made for you I climbed across the mountain tops Swam all across the ocean blue I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules And baby I broke them all for you Oh because even when I was flat broke You made me feel like a million bucks You do And I was made for you You see the smile that's on my mouth It's hiding the words that don't come out And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed They don't know my head is a mess No they don't know who I really am And they don't know what I've been through Like you do And I was made for you All of these lines across my face [...Aaaaah] Tell you the story of who I am [Aaaaah] So many stories of where I been [Aaaaah] And how I got to where I am [Aaa-aah] Oh but these stories don't mean anything [Aaa-aah] When you've got no one to tell them to [Aaa-aah] It's true [Aaa-aah] I was made for you [Aaaaah] Oh yeah well it's true That I was made for you REASON: When you look at someone, you can guess what they've gone through in life. You can guess all their stories based solely off of their facial features. The eyes are a gateway into one's soul. There's a story behind every scar. Life is a series of stories and chapters. I remember I used to have the thought "Thus ends another chapter of our lives" back in highschool after each year and each 'monumental' moment (getting my first job, first date, driving, etc...). Sometimes these chapters close without you realizing it, sometimes an entire story of your life comes to a close with just a sigh. I've spent this month between the pages of my life, and I've had plenty of time to reflect on it all. It's true that all your life stories don't matter much when you don't have anyone to tell them to. Quite simply, I miss my friends. Even when we weren't on the best of terms, they were always there for me. Someone -always- had my back. Now I'm off on my own and all I have to keep in contact with them is my phone and the internet and the rare trip home. I've begun to realize the cost of the dream. At the same time though, I'm completely, deeply in love, and I wouldn't give that up for the world. Call it fate, destiny, soul mates, whatever you want, that's what I believe it is. I just wish my friends were here.
