Electric Fan Install.
This install was not very hard to do at all. The hardest part was making some mounting brackets for the fan. I got all the stuff needed for the install at my local Radio Shack. Total cost of all the parts including the fan was just under $30.00. Time it took to do the complete install from start to finish was about 2 hours. As I said is was not that hard to do if you can make a couple of small mounting brackets for the fan. I will be adding some more detailed pictures of the brackets I made as well as a drawing with bracket specs. The wireing was very easy and I will be adding a wireing diagram showing the exact wiring needed. Parts Needed: 1.18ga wire (15 ft) 2.Mini Fuse pack P/N 270-1091 (5 amp) 3.Fuse Holder P/N 270-1237 4.Switch on/off P/N 275-692 5.Fan 85 CFM 12VDC (3.8 watts max) 6.Custom fan brackets made from 1/8" mild steel (details comming soon)!
The SR50 comes with a really good cooling system and I have never really needed a electric fan but I have found out that if you like to double on the scoot in heavy traffic the fan becomes a handy little accessorie to have. The only experience I've ever had where I needed a little extra cooling was in heavy traffic doubling my wife around. The temp never got to the red zone but it did get very close. This was my main reason for installing the fan. I figure it will be exactly what I need if I do a lot of doubling in hot weather. The Install is pretty simple and cost very little. The fan is quiet and needs less than 4 watts to run!
