| I drilled a 3/8" hole in three places to allow for more air flow. The holes can esally be taped up if not neded and it's a great way to tune in you airbox. If you have a bog effect then you need to cover up more holes. The way I tuned in my box was to eleminate the bog effect but still allow the most air the engine can efficiently use. I have tried bigger jets and all three holes but there is a point you reach where the engine cannot suck the amount of fuel air being supplied and the engine runs at a lower state of tune. I use the sparkplug as a measure of how the engine is running. If the plug looks white, pink or very light brown in color then you are to lean and you need eather less air (tape up a hole) or a bigger main jet. If the plug looks real dark and even black in color you have not enough air (untape a hole) or you need to go to a smaller jet. Sometimes you may be able to raise or lower the needle a clip if you main jet/airbox is in the neighborhood of right. |
