| Manning High School (1907-1983) |
The old Manning High School building was constructed in 1907 and was located at 301 North Brooks Street where it saw classes graduate for seventy-six years. The last graduating class crossed the stage and received their diplomas in 1983. The main building of Manning High burned on Labor Day, September 5, 1983, and was later torn down. A new school was constructed on Highway 261 and in the fall of 1983, opened its doors to a new class. The Class of '82 will always carry in their hearts many fond memories of their youth and the days spent at Manning High...the days spent within these halls, the lifelong friends, and of course, first loves. Then there was the excellent guidance we received and the knowledge that would remain with us throughout our lives, all of this through the devotion of our beloved teachers, principal and superintendent. It will live in our hearts and minds forever. Unknown |
