Eatable Finger Paints
1 yr and up
  • 1 sm. pk. of Vanilla Instant Pudding
  • 1 box assorted food coloring
  • 4-6 small bowls or cups
    **************************
    Mix pudding as recommended on package, divid pudding into the 4-6 small bowls or cups
    add 1-2 drops of food coloring mix drops for different colors.
    Your child will enjoy painting you beautiful pictures with this finger paint along with a delicious and fun snack

  • Coffee Can Bongo
    6 months and up
  • 1 Coffee Can and lid, any size (the bigger the better)
  • 1-2 sheets Construction Paper (depending on the size of the can)
  • 2 pieces of material, for small can 6-8in. material cut into a square or circle
    for large cans 8-10 in material cut into a square or circle
  • 2 12in. pieces of string
  • Scissors, Glue, Markers

    Lay coffee can on its side, put it on top of the construction paper with the lid off,
    mark your paper so that the paper will fit inside the lips of the coffee can.
    Cut paper if needed (if your child is able to cut a strait line let them do this part).
    Next let your child color on the paper while you cut holes into the material,
    (you will need to cut 6-8 holes in. each piece)
    After the paper is colored and you have cut holes in the material,
    lay the coffee can back on its side on top off the paper
    put a good amount of glue on the edge of the paper, start rolling can
    as you are rolling add more glue to the paper so that it will not come off the can later.
    Once the paper is on the can glue the lid on, then let it all dry 1-2hrs.
    Now put the coffee can ontop of one piece of material, then place the second piece
    ontop of the coffee can. Thread the two pieces together crossing string as you go
    (if child is able to allow them to do this part)
    once you have put the string threw all the holes tie a knot cut excess string
    Your instrument is complete let your child bang on it with his/her hands
    or give them a wooden spoon, show them how both sides make different sounds.

  • Ants on a Log
    1yr and older
  • 2-3 pieces Celery cut into 3in. pieces
  • Peanut Butter
  • 1 Small box of rasins

    If child is old enough (2yr) let him/her do this.
    Wash and dry celery, with a spoon put some peanut butter on celery
    then put 4-5 rasins on top of peanut butter and eat.

  • Play Dough
    1 yr and up
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 2 tsp. cream of tarter
  • 1 4pk of food color
    ************************
    Mix all ingredints except food color together in a saucepan,
    cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until dough pulls from sides of pot.
    Dump out onto floured surface and knead until proper texture
    seperate into sections add a few drops of food color to each section.
    Now your child has safe non-toxic and eatable play dough.
    Store in airtight container. Keeps for weeks.

  • Soup can Pencil Holder
    2 yr and up
  • 1 soup can
  • colored construction paper
  • wallet size picture of child
  • 30 paper clips
  • glue, tape, scissors, markers
    ************************************
    Clean and peal label off soup can, cut paper into 13-4"x4"
    pieces, along with 4-3"x3" pieces, and 2 pieces 1"wide and 11"long.
    Next help child to roll pieces to form little tubes (except the 2-1"x11")
    glue or tape the tubes so that they will not unravel.
    Now trim picture and glue it onto can (leaving room to glue tubes above and below),
    once it has dried start glueing the tubes on, first glue the 3"x3" tubes above and below the
    picture to form a frame pressing the ends down paper clip them so that they will dry that way.
    Okay, when it's dry, remove paperclips and start adding the 4"x4" tubes around the can making
    sure to "frame" the picture, continue around the can making sure to paperclip
    the ends so that they won't fall off before they dry. (add alot of glue)
    Once dry remove paperclips, write childs name and age along with a little message on the 2-1"x11"
    then glue the pieces around the top and the bottom of the can.
    Let dry, if you like you could always cut a piece of paper to fit the bottom or if you have a
    cork coaster you can glue that to the bottom.

  • Banana Boat(Noah's Ark)
    1 yr and up
  • 1 banana
  • Handful of Animal Crackers
  • 1/2 cup Whip Cream
  • Blue Food Color

    In a small bowl mix whip cream with 1-2 drops food color
    place blue whip cream in the bottom of a bowl or plate
    place banana on top of whip cream with ends facing up
    now stick some animal crackers into the banana and a couple in the whip cream
    your child will enjoy putting animals on the boat along with eating them.
