Chapter 5

Alexis laid there silently she wasn�t really sure where she was but there was defiantly a weird odder in the air. She looked around and saw nothing but white walls until she looked down and noticed a long thin piece of plastic running into the back of her hand. It was then that she realized she was in the hospital, but just what happened to cause her to end up there.

Suddenly a pain rain through her soul and she remembered being at the metro court and Sonny wanting to kill Jerry. Oh God she thought to herself as she pulled every tube attached to her body out. The worst case scenario running through her mind. Sonny has indeed killed Jerry and she has to figure out a way to keep him out of jail. She remembered the look on Sonny�s face the last time he was in jail and knew he couldn�t live through that again.

She climbed out of bed and hurriedly looked around for her clothes. �oh this can�t be happening.� She yelled over and over again. The walls are probably closing in on Sonny with every breath he took. She had to get the heck out of there pronto and go save him. �Where are my clothes?� She yelled out loud.

Okay Alexis just take a breath and think� maybe Sonny hasn�t been arrested yet. Heck maybe he didn�t even kill Jerry.

And then out of the blue she stopped and thought about it � if Sonny weren�t already under arrest he would have been there waiting for her to wake up. She placed her hand down her face and so wanted to scream.

How on earth was she going to get him out of the mess he�s gotten himself into. There must have been at least fifty people in the restaurant when she passed out and he killed Jerry.

Suddenly she stopped and thought about how this was all her fault. She suddenly remembered the question he had asked her. �Did you willingly sleep with Jerry Jacks or did he rape you.� Oh my god he knew� Sonny knew that she had had sex with Jerry Jacks. But how? She asked herself over and over again. How could he possibly have known that unless Jerry told him.

Just the thought alone of Jerry going to Sonny and telling him that the two of them had se �� She couldn�t even say the word as the realization of Sonny knowing and the look of expression he must have had on his face while Jerry undeniable had a smirk of winning some sort of prize expression on his came into her head.

�Girlfriend� Diane said walking through the door. �What on earth are you doing?� She grabbed a hold of a very weak and confused Alexis and forced her back into her bed.

�Diane no please I have to help him� I have to let him know how sorry I am and that if I had any idea that we could have had a future of any sort I wouldn�t have let things get so out of control.� She grabbed a hold of Diane�s arm. �I don�t know how he found out Diane. I never told anybody what happened that night �. Not even you. � He must have told him Diane� he had too.� Alexis let go of her. �But when, when did he tell him �. Did he tell him before or after we made love?�

Diane had no idea what she was talking about as she made her get back into the bed. Alexis was making no sense what so ever, and considering Diane seemed to be the only one who could ever really follow her train of thought that was a very scary thing. A smile did however come over Diane�s face knowing that Alexis had actually had sex with somebody. The only question remaining was with who?

�Please Diane.� Alexis said as she grabbed a hold of her arm again. �I have to help Sonny � I need to make him understand why I did what I did. I can�t let him face a life of prison because of me �. I am so not worth it.�

�Alexis sweetie Sonny isn�t going to prison�. Well at least not this week.� Diane laughed but knew by the look on Alexis�s face it was a poor choice of a joke.

Diane had to hold Alexis down in her bed. �I�ll make you a deal I will find Sonny for you if you promise to stay in bed.�

�That won�t be necessary.� Sonny stated walking into the room.

Alexis finally felt like she could breathe again as their eyes locked onto one another�s. Her eyes instantly swelled up and he knew the only way to keep them from pouring out was to walk over to her and hold her tight.

Diane felt like crying herself as Sonny walked right past her and held Alexis in such an loving embrace. She knew they were the perfect match even if they were too stupid to admit it. Oh my lord she thought to herself was Sonny the man Alexis had gotten it on with?

�Sonny you have to let me explain.� Alexis said as the tears stated to fall. She was so scared to let go of him but yet at the same time needed to look him in his eyes.

Sonny slowly pushed her body back and cupped his hands along the structures of her cheek bones. He needed to look her in the eyes as well and try his hardest to understand what it was that just happened. Why his simple question made her faint. He felt so bad for asking her something that she wasn�t ready to either answer or worse yet, face. But still, why did it have such an effect on her was something he just couldn�t get out of his head.

She tried so hard to speak but yet nothing. Everything she said came out jumbled, almost as if only every other word or two that she wanted to say was actually spoken.

Sonny knew he needed to calm her down, that everything else as long as they were together could wait till morning. Slowly he climbed onto the bed next to her making her place his head against his chest. He hoped the beating of his heart would help her calm herself. He knew if the situation was reversed her heartbeat pressed against his eardrum would without a doubt calm his inner soul.

Diane smiled brightly at the two of them so obvious in love with one another. She just wanted to yell at them to open up and let the other one in to their true feelings. And more than sexually she felt like including out loud but decided they were too lost into each other to even hear a word she had to say.

Instead she opted to leave the room quickly and quietly. They�d never even miss her� heck they didn�t even know she was there in the first place.

Alexis was trying so hard to speak and to let Sonny know why what happened, happened and how much trouble she was in but yet nothing came out right and she was making no sense. Why was she still feeling this way. She hated the fact that she let her emotions get the better of her with him that one night �. and now she can�t seem to get control back over them as long as she is in his presences �.or for that matter even thinking about him.

�Shhhhhh� He kept saying to her over and over again as he played with her long silky hair. �We can talk later after you get some sleep.�

It had taken Sonny quite some time to get Alexis to calm down and finally fall asleep. The nurse came in a couple of times and wanted to wake her and take her vitals but there was no way that Sonny was going to allow that to happen. He ushered them out of the room threatening them with bodily harm if he had to but there was no way in hell they were going to upset her.

Sonny held Alexis extremely tight all night long as she continued to sleep. Of course she was only able to do so because Sonny got a hold of Doctor Robin Scorpio and she gave her something to help her through the night.

Sonny on the other hand stayed up all night long rocking her in his arms. He wasn�t sure when it happened or how for that matter that it happened, but he was finally able to admit to himself that he was in love with the woman he was holding in his arms. The mother of his first born Child.

�Well that was different.� Max said as he and Diane who was fixing her blouse came walking out of the janitors closet.

�What can I say.� Diane replied. �Seeing Sonny and Alexis together the way they were inspired me.�

�I�d love to go another round or two with you.� Max blushed as he spoke. �But I have business to take care of.�

Diane looked up at him. She knew Sonny hadn�t given him any orders to do anything for him so just what was it that he was up too. She could tell by the seriousness that came over his expression that it had nothing to do with her.

Max wanted to tell Diane what it was he was about to take care of on his own but he knew he couldn�t. He didn�t want her to get into any trouble with her being an officer of the court and all. �I�m sorry but I really do need to go.�

He walked down the corridor of the hospital and disappeared around the corner. He watched as several interns walked past him. He waited till he was sure nobody could over hear him. Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell phone calling his brother Milo.

Milo who was standing out by Sonny�s limo answered his phone and assured his brother as he looked back into the limo that everything was in place. That nothing would be done until he was able to take care of the situation himself.

Milo hung up his phone and walked over and got on the already opened elevator. As the doors closed in front of him Diane came walking out around the corner. Curiosity about what was about to go down got the better of her and she felt the need to try and figure out what it was that Max was up to.

She smiled brightly before she turned around and headed back towards Alexis�s room. She wasn�t a hundred percent sure or not but she felt that Jerry Jacks was about to meet his maker. The best part being that it seems her lover had devised this plan all on his own without the orders of the boss man.

Diane opened Alexis�s hospital room door just a crack and couldn�t help but gleam at the two of them cuddle so loving, sound asleep in each other�s arm. Sonny looked so at peace a feeling that Diane didn�t even think he had in him.

Quietly as to not wake them she let the door close slowly. She leaned against the door and keep thinking about the nonsense that Alexis was spilling out earlier. It must have had something to do with Jerry hence why Max is finding it necessary to send him swimming with the fishes�.

But just what was it that Max somehow knew that Sonny himself was yet to find out?
