| CHAPTER 1
Alexis had just left work and was on her way home but somehow found herself walking down on the docks aimlessly. She wasnt sure how she got there or what she was really doing there. All she knew for sure is that she was falling hard for a man she knew she shouldnt be involved with on any level, especially emotionally. But yet no matter how hard she tried to push him away he seemed to draw her into him deeper and deeper. She knew he was up to know good and was going to end up pulling her down with him but she just couldnt help herself, she wanted. No needed him so desperately and she wasnt sure why. She shivered as the storm above her threatened to fall and she knew she should find safety soon but as she made her way over to look out at the water her feet seemed to become somehow stuck in place. Kinda like her life into deep with no way out. She was falling in love with none other than her ex-husband Jasper Jacks older brother Jerry Jacks. The one man who she wanted to turn to for answer, she couldnt. Sure he probably would have belittled her for a few long hours and told her what a fool she was for getting in so deep. But then he would have figure a way to help her out, a way to make sure he couldnt/wouldnt take her down with him. But since her brother Stefan was dead, there was no way he could help her now. The rain started to come down softly as she continued to look out over the water and for some reason it made her think of her sister Kristina. Her thoughts only made her become frustrated because Kristina was also dead and couldnt help her figure out what the heck happened and how she allowed herself to become so close to sure a ruthless man. She thought about it for a moment and then started to laugh, heck if Kristina were still alive she probably would of ended up telling Sonny that the child she was carrying back then, her name sake, was really his child and not her ex-fiance Ned Ashton's baby, and her whole life would have been so different. Just as she started to contemplate how her life would have changed if only Sonny knew the truth the whole sky seemed to like just open up and crash down upon her. The rain was extremely cold and harsh. She looked up and screamed before quickly running back to her car. She almost made it all the way until her right ankle turned over causing her to slide across the extremely wet pavement and almost hit the ground harshly. Luckily however she managed to catch her balance just in the nick of time and was able to stand up straight. Her shoe on the other hand wasnt as fortunate, as she looked down and realized the heel had broken off. She bent down and took her shoe off and threw it in the direction of her car. She continued to slowly make her way back to her car cursing her life and place in time with every step she took. The rain became more intense and harder to see through with every drop that fell. Her day couldnt get any worse and she knew it. Well she thought she knew it until she got to her car and found her back window busted in and her shoe lying on the back seat. Is this some kind of omen She yelled as she looked up at the raging sky. What sick joke is the universe trying to play on me now. She continued to yell. What did I do in my life to deserve the misery which has fallen upon me? And with that question she heard her cell phone ring. She shook her head in disbelief as she pulled her cell phone out her now drench jacket pocket and looked down at the caller ID. What do you want? She yelled with so much frustration the person on the other end would have been afraid to answer her. That is if the person on the other end wasnt the father of her first born daughter. Mob boss himself Sonny Corinthos. Be in my office in the next five minutes! Excuse me. She yelled more frustrated than ever. Youre ordering me down to you office NOW! She poked herself in the chest as she spoke harshly. I Sonny Corinthos am not on your pay roll and you cannot order me around. She became extremely agitated when she realized that after he ordered her down to her office her words were never heard as he had hung up the phone. She threw her cell phone through the broken glass causing more of it to fall before it landed on the back seat. If that no good little know it all mini mobster thinks he can just order me around well hes got another thing coming. She stated out loud to herself as she walked around her car and aimlessly looked for her keys. That little this isnt happening. She yelled up at the sky again knowing life couldnt really be this cruel. ~*~*~**~**~*~*~*~ About twenty long minutes later Alexis Davis came screaming into Sonny Corinthoss office. She still only had on one shoe and was dripping wet from head to toe. If you think you can ordered me around like one of your bodyguards or worse yet your difficult at best ex-wife. She yelled as she slammed the door behind her. You better just think again, because there is no way Im going to allow some self-righteous, self indulgent, Self hypocri . He words fell silent as she looked over her shoulder and noticed Max and Diane standing in the room staring at her. They all, Sonny included, though she was going to lose it when she started to laugh. However as they all soon found out it wasnt a laughter of fun and games but a laughter of utter disgust. She looked Sonny directly in the eyes which actually seemed to somewhat frightened him. If you called me down here to talk about the fact that you dont like the idea of your lawyer. She looked over at Diane, a woman who had once been her rival but has actually become her best friend and confident. And your bodyguard. Her eyes followed over to where Max was standing which caused him to hide behind Diane in shear fear. Sleeping together. Her eyes moved heavily onto Sonnys. Then witnesses or not. She walked right over and got in Sonnys face, grabbing a hold of his jacket with both hands. Im going to kill you right here and now! Alexis that isnt what I called you over here for. Sonny lied. I called.. Summoned! Summoned. He corrected for fear of his life. You over here to discuss business with you. She looked back over at where Diane and Max who were now standing closer to the door were and then back at Sonny with even more rage in her eyes. Liar! Diane took a deep breath and calmly made her way over to Alexis and placed her hands on her shoulders. Alexis sweetie, youre making us all a little nervous. Why dont you let go of the poor man. Alexis laughed a sinuous laugh. Let the POOR man go. She let go with one hand and patted Sonnys face with it. There is nothing poor about this little man. Hes not in any danger at the moment Only from you. Diane smirked letting go of her. Hes not in jail. Alexis continued. He doesnt have some crazy lunatic stalking his every movement. Is somebody stalking you Alexis? Sonny asked as his frightened eyes turned to ones of concern. He doesnt have the universe playing mind games with him. She stated louder ignoring his question. Hes not standing in a puddle created by his own soaking wet clothes and going to die from pneumonia. Okay thats it! Sonny yelled as he pried her hands off of him and proceeded to walk around her. Before Alexis has a complete breakdown everybody out. He added as he literally pushed Diane and Max who protested loudly out the door. Would you like to tell me whats going on with you Alexis? Sonny asked as he turned around and looked at her. I am soaking wet and my life is completely turned upside down. And trust me there is no way out of the hell I am about to enter and you want to talk now? She asked almost in tears. You should have come to me before you felt like you were losing control Alexis. Dont you know I would have helped you anyway I could without judgment. His words hit her like a ton of bricks and she could no longer hold back the tears. They came streaming down her face in a way that told Sonny not to push the issue but to just be there for her. Careful not to step out of bounds, where their relationship was concerned, he walked over and cleared a few papers from the one corner of his desk. He then walked over and grabbed her by the waist and helped her to sit on the cleared spot. He bent down and carefully removed her one remaining shoe, followed closely by her soaking wet jacket. Gracefully as to not upset her anymore then she clearly was he began unbuttoning the buttons on her blouse. She placed her hands on top of his and tried to stop him but he firmly removed her hands. There was something in his eyes that allowed her to let him not only continue but to remove her blouse completely from her body. He leaned over and kissed her forehead and smiled as he made his way behind his desk and picked up his suit jacket. Without any objection she allowed him to help her on with it. She even didnt object to him walking back around in front of her and butting the buttons himself. She could tell right there and then that he really did care about her and really just wanted to help her. Her tears fell at a faster pace as he looked her in the eyes begging her to speak to him, to let him in. She couldnt tell him what was going on with her. How she messed up her life and more importantly how much she had fallen for one of his arch enemies. He would never understand and she knew it. Heck this is the same man who threw a fit when she married his younger brother Ric Lansing and he isnt half as ruthless as Jerry Jack could ever pretend not to be. The begging in his eyes became more apparent with every second that passed and she so wish she could let him in but she either couldnt or wouldnt, and at this point she didnt even know which was true to form. Suddenly without any warning Sonny stepped back and held out his hand. No words were spoken as she took it without remorse. He picked up her shoe with his other hand and the two of them walked out of his office. They walked right past Diane and Max who were sitting at a table enjoying a cup of coffee and holding hands. Sonny glared down at them giving them the evil eye and they let go off one another. Neither one of them spoke either as Sonny lead Alexis quietly out the front door and into his waiting limo. Diane stood up and thought about stopping Sonny but Max was too quick to stand in her way. There was something inside Max telling him that Alexis needed Sonny even more then she realized at this very moment in time. And just maybe Sonny needed Alexis as well. |
