| CHAPTER 12 ~A few days later~ Alexis is sitting on the couch reading over some files when theres a knock at the door. Coming Shes shocked to see Ned standing there with Kristina in his arms. Can we come in? She holds her arm out. Please. Would you like to hold her? Alexis doesnt say a word as she takes Kristina from him. Shes been missing you. Blowing into her face. And Ive missed her. Thank you for bringing her by. Actual what Im doing is bringing her home. Home? Alexis asked scared of the answer. Brooke-Lynn called me the other night and I havent been able to get the conversation we had out of my mind. They walk over to the couch and sit down. Hows she doing? Shes growing up without me. I know its hard. Anyway something she said got me thinking. About? About you and Kristina and everything your both missing out on. She holds Kristina tight. Ive missed a lot. And its not right. Yea well try telling that to Judge Farmer. Alexis stated sarcastically I did. For all the good it did Im sure. I told her that Kristina needed to be with her mother and everything else needed to be forgotten. She thinks Im a lunatic. It doesnt really matter what she thinks because as of now Kristina is back where she belongs. What are you saying. Alexis Judge Farmer was being paid off by my Grandfather. Alexis was about to say something but he stopped her. I didnt know at first and when I found out I was just as upset as you are and Im sorry I didnt tell you earlier. How could you keep something like that from me? Alexis asked with tears in her eyes. Because by the time I found out it was to late. I had already fallen in love with this little girl and I wasnt ready to give her up. Heck Im still not. Theres no way Judge Farmer or that old coot is going to get away with this. Alexis calm down everythings already been taken care of. Kristina is officially back home, her stuff is down in the car. He hands her a piece of paper. And I think its better off if you just concentrate on taking care of Kristina. My Grandfather and the good Judge will get exactly what they have coming to them. He walks to the door. Ill make sure of that. Ned Im still pretty pissed at you but I also want you to know that your welcome to visit Kristina any time you want as long as you call first. Youre a big part of her life. Thank you but you wont have to worry about seeing much of me. Ive decided to move to the City for a while and try and get to know my daughter. Good Luck He opens the door. Thank you and take care of her. You bet I will. ~*~ Alexis places a sleeping Kristina in her crib. welcome home my preciously little one. She places a blanket over her. I hope you have sweet dreams. Mommy will be right in the other room when you wake up. Theres a knock on the door. Alexis brings her finger tips to her lips kisses them lightly and then touches Kristinas forehead. I love you. She wipes the tears from her eyes as she answers the door. You okay? Jax asked She throws her arms around him. Are you kidding Im better then okay. I havent felt this good and lord knows when. Hugging her back. So you want to tell me what or who made your day. Pulling away from him. Ned actually. Ned? He asked shocked Yes Ned, look. She hands him the piece of paper Ned gave her. Its official. Jax reads the paper. Congratulations. He throws his arms around her. I cant believe shes finally home. Still holding her. What do you say we celebrate. We can start by ordering way to much food, drinking way to much wine and then popping several bags of popcorn. Her eyes meet his. Good I love you. I guess Ive come at a bad time. Cameron says standing in her doorframe holding a bottle of wine. Dropping her arms from Jax. No please come in Im so glad youre here. She runs over and pulls him inside. Ive got the best news. Cameron gives Jax the evil eye. Should I congratulate the two of you. Congratulate us for what? Alexis asked He walks over and places the bottle of wine on the table. I hope the two of you enjoy the wine. I really must be going. You cant leave. Alexis yelled. I think youve got the wrong idea here. Jax added. Oh I dont know when the woman Im sleeping with. Jax gives Alexis a look. Tells another man, another man who just happens to be her ex-husband no less, that she loves him I dont know what other kind of idea I should get. Cameron I will always love Jax hes my best friend. I was just sharing some great news with him. She walks over and intertwines her arm with his. The same news that I wanted to share with you. She looks up at him and smiles. In a more sensual way. I think thats my cue to leave. Jax interrupts. No Jax please dont leave. I wanted you to meet her. Alexis pleaded. Jax looked over at Cameron and could tell he wanted him to go. I promise Ill stop by later on in the week and you can introduce her to me then. He kisses her forehead which doesnt sit well with Cameron. Alexis walks him over to the door. Im going to hold you to that. She closes the door and looks over at Cameron. What? What happened to giving me space Dr. Lewis? Space? I havent talked to you in two days and because I decide to come over here with a bottle of wine Im crowding you? She walks over and kisses him quickly. Thats not what I mean and you know it. Okay fine Im sorry I let it slip that were sleeping together. Nice try but thats still not what I meant. Taking his coat off and tossing it onto a nearby chair. Then I have no idea what your talking about. The hell you dont. She laughed checking out the bottle of wine he brought over. Its a very good year. She puts it down and looks at him. And youre a very jealous man. Jealous? Me of Jax? Are you out of your mind. Admit it Dr Feel good, you were and still are jealous of my ex-husband. She walks across the room. Ill admit Im not comfortable around him but I am not jealous. Placing two wine glasses on the table. Would you like to do the honors or shall I? He takes the bottle from her and opens it. Just what are we celebrating? You mean besides you being jea----lous. He gives her a look. She walks over and kisses him again. This time with more passion then before. Youre not going to believe what happened. What ever it is has defiantly made you happy and more relaxed then Ive seen in a long time. He fills the wine glasses and hands her one. Well except the other night. Maybe if you play your cards right Dr Lewis youll get to see me relaxed like that again tonight. He pulls her body to his. Im an excellent card player. Kristinas cry comes across the baby monitor. Dont worry I didnt kidnap her. She runs out of the room and down the hall. Alexis what did you do. Its not what I did. She comes walking back into the room holding Kristina. Its believe it or not what Ned did. She hands Kristina to him. I dont understand. Holding open the piece of paper Ned gave her. Its all right here in black and white. I officially have sole custody of my daughter. Are you serious. He moves Kristina to his side and pulls Alexis into a deep hug. How on earth did this happen? Long story short, I think Ned felt guilty about keeping me from my little girl and he made it possible for me to get her back. But how? Alexis takes Kristina from him and twirls her around. Who cares how, the point is shes home where she belongs. Looking at her and smiling. Youre right, thats all that matters. So would you like to join Kristina and I for dinner? Were having peas and applesauce. As yummy as that sounds--- Sounding depressed as she cuts him off. Your not going to stay. Like I was saying as yummy as that sounds, I kind of had my heart set on a steak and lobster dinner at Lukes place. I dont think Lukes place is the best place to take Kristina. Neither do I, but that doesnt mean we cant order in. You know Cameron now that Kristinas home things are going to be different. He walks over to them and grabs her. That just means its going to be even better. THE END. |
