| CHAPTER 2
The following evening Shawn is released from the hospital. Hope has convinced him to spend a few days with her since Bo is still out of town. Shawn comes walking out of the kitchen with two cans of soda. He looks over at his mother who is sitting in front of the fireplace. He can�t stand seeing her in so much pain and he knows he�s partially to blame. Hope looks up at him and smiles. �I�m so glad you weren�t seriously hurt in that fire.� He walks over to her and hands her a soda. �I know right about now you�d probably prefer something stronger but�.� �Actually I don�t want anything at all.� He sits down next to her. �I�m sorry about all the things I said to you about dad and Billie, I had no right to talk to you that way and I really don�t know why I did.� �I do.� She quickly noted. �It has something to do with you hanging around with Jan.� �Mom can we please not do this.� �I just wish I could understand what she did to you. Why you would even be with her let alone want to marry her.� Getting mad. �Mom I agreed to come home for a while but if you going to insist on putting down my fianc�.� �Fine I�ll make you a deal you don�t call her that and I won�t talk about her.� �Deal� She holds her hand out. �Before I shake your hand mom, we have to also agree not to talk about Belle.� �Can I help it Shawn Douglas Brady if I just want you to be happy.� �Mom I know how you feel but things are the way they are and nothing is going to change that.� �Shawn you still love her and she still loves you. You can�t just sit back and watch her marry Phillip.� �I have no intention of watching her marry Phillip.� Excitement filling her eyes. �Then you do plan on winning her back.� �No I just meant that I have no intention of going to her wedding.� �Shawn honey�� �Mom please don�t.� There�s a knock at the door. Shawn gets up. �I�ll get it.� �Whoever it is tell them to go away.� Hope yells. Shawn looks back at her and laughs before opening the door. �Shawn thank heavens you�re alright.� Jan screams jumping into his arms. �Why didn�t you call me, I was so worried about you.� Hope looks into the fire shaking her head. Jan notices her and walks over. �Thank you Mrs. Brady for taking such good care of him.� �Why wouldn�t I he�s my son.� She states annoyingly. Jan just ignores her and walks back to Shawn. �Sweetie come on let�s go home.� �Shawn�s right where he belongs.� Shawn grabs Jan�s arm and pulls her towards the door. �My mom really needs me now. I�ll see you back at my place later.� �You don�t really expect me to hang out with Mimi and her crazy boyfriend, do you?� �Jan my mom�s upset because my dad is outta town with Billie.� Jan thinks quickly to herself. �I can�t allow him to throw me out, somehow I need to get him out of here.� She notices the soda in his hands and takes it from him. �Shawn you�re soda is warm let me at least get you a glass of ice for that. Shawn doesn�t get a chance to say anything before Jan, with his soda in hand, runs off to the kitchen. �Mom I�m really sorry I know you don�t like Jan very much but she�s just trying to help.� �Shawn I just don�t understand why you�re with her.� �Mom Belle and I aren�t getting back together, she�s with Phillip now and that�s the way she wants it.� �As much as I don�t understand why Belle agreed to marry Phillip that has nothing to do with you being with Jan. That girl is nothing but crazy. Don�t you remember all the things she did to you in the past.� Jan comes running out of the kitchen and hands Shawn a drugged glass of soda. Trying her hardest to be completely rude. �Jan if you don�t mind Shawn and I have a lot to talk about. The doors that way.� Jan watches as Shawn takes a large sip of his soda. �Yes I guess it�s only natural that Shawn would want to discuss our up coming wedding with his mother.� �There�s no way in hell I�m going to allow you to marry my son.� Jan walks over and grabs Shawn�s arm as she places her head in his chest and pretends to cry. Yelling �Mom like it or not Jan and I are getting married and there�s not a d**n thing you can do about it.� �Shawn� Hope gasps. �What�s got into you.� �You and the sick way you treat the woman I�m about to marry.� He throws the glass towards the fire causing Hope to jump. �It�s over between me and Belle and we both know that so why don�t you just give it a rest.� �Shawn honey.� Hope states again causing him to get even more upset with her. �This isn�t like you.� Shawn can feel his head pounding as Hope words fall deaf. �She�s never liked me.� Jan cries. �Oh please Jan give it a rest.� Shawn doesn�t know what�s happening to him as he walks over to his mother and places his hands on her shoulder. �Don�t you dare yell at her.� He begins to squeeze her shoulders tight shaking her back and forth. �Shawn stop you�re hurting me.� Hope cries. Jan can�t help but laugh through her cries. �You did this this is all you�re fault.� Shawn yells Hope tries to push her son�s hands off of her but he only squeeze them tighter. �Shawn you�re scaring me.� �Why can�t you just leave me alone. I don�t need you trying to run my life.� �Get your hands off you�re mother. �Bo yells bursting through the door. Shawn pushes her back towards the fireplace. �This is all her fault.� Jan trying to look innocent yells. �Shawn please don�t hurt your mother like this.� Bo runs over, grabs Shawn around the neck, pulls him off his mother and tosses him on the couch. �What the hell is going on here.� �I don�t know.� Hope cries. �Everything was fine and then he lost it.� Bo pulls Hope into an embrace. �Are you okay?� �Yea I think so.� He pulls her closer. �I just don�t know what she did to him.� �Shawn Douglas Brady� Bo yells looking back. �Where�d they go.� Hope asks. Bo runs over to the door as Jan� car screeches out of the driveway. He looks back at Hope. �You sure you�re okay?� �I�ll be fine in a moment he just scared me that�s all.� �I�m going after him and finding out once and for all what�s going on with him.� �Bo don�t.� She yells. �I�m not going to let him just get away with this.� �I didn�t say you should but I think going after him right now will only make things worse.� He closes the door and walks over to her. �I�m glad I came home when I did.� �It would have been nicer if you�d come home while our son was in the hospital fighting for his life.� �What?� Bo looks confused. �What happened?� �Well while you were out looking for your dead daughter our alive son almost drowned, froze to death and then was burned alive. But apparently you were to preoccupied with your ex-lover to even care.� �That�s not true and you know it.� Bo yelled. �if I would have been informed�..� �Informed.� Hope laughed cutting him off. �well it�s kinda hard to inform a man who never answers his cell phone.� Bo closes his eyes and then opens it again. �I turned it off.� �Really.� She looks at him and shakes her hand. �What�s the matter Brady don�t want to be disturbed.� Bo can�t believe she just said that. �If you even think that I�d�..that Billie and I�.. that I�d do that to you �. Then you don�t know me or what our marriage means to me at all.� He storms towards the door. �Where are you going?� she demanded to know. �To find our son.� He yelled slamming the door behind him. �Mommy, mommy� Zach cried from upstairs. �Mommy�s coming honey.� Hope yelled running up the stairs. |
