| CHAPTER 4
Sonny, Alexis and the kids were on their way back to his place. He couldn�t recall the last time he had such a great relaxing day. Or how much he liked watching Alexis play with her children, or for that matter how nice to was to see her getting along with his boys. He almost wished everyday could be this great. �Thanks for everything Sonny.� Alexis quickly stated causing him to come back to reality. �The girls and I had a wonderful day.� He smiled at her. �Maybe we can do this again sometime?� �Maybe.� Was all Alexis said as she looked down at a sleeping Molly. �Hey dad when we get inside can Kristina, Morgan and I play the Wii system?� Michael asked as the limo pulled into their driveway. Alexis was about to object but Sonny spoke too quickly. �Yeah that will be fine.� He looked over at Alexis. �Alexis and I have a few things we need to talk about anyway.� Alexis could tell by the tone in his voice that the conversation wasn�t going to be a good one. And as she looked down at her hand could only think of one possible thing he wanted to talk about. �Sonny can�t what ever you want to talk about wait till tomorrow?� She asked. �It�s been a long day and the girls are really tired.� The limo came to a stop and the boys jumped out. �Don�t forget your sister.� Sonny yelled as they took off. �Come on Kristina, you can go first.� Michael said as he took her hand in his. Sonny reached over and took a sleeping Molly out of Alexis�s arms. They got out of the car and walked into the house. Sonny then handed Molly to Max and told him to put her in Kristina�s room and to keep an eye on her. �I guess not.� Alexis mumbled under her breath as she walked in to the living room and sat down. Sonny quickly followed behind her and poured both of them a glass of Scotch. Handing her one. �I thought you weren�t suppose to drink.� Slamming it back. �What happened to your hand Alexis?� He asked firmly and straight to the point. �I told you it was no big deal.� She got off the couch and wondered over to the window. �You know me Sonny if there�s a will there�s a way.� She looked at him. �And somehow I managed to close my hand in the door.� She looked back out the window. �But don�t worry it doesn�t hurt much and they said it should heal quickly.� Pacing back across the room. �So what is it that you wanted to talk to me about anyway?� She patted him on his chest. �I really hope it isn�t about Ric�.because like I said before Sonny, I just can�t help you with him.� She began pacing the room again. �You know better people then me have tired saving Ric from himself and they couldn�t do it�.and well lord knows I�ve tired as well�.I really think he needs to learn from his own mistake and if he can�t let the past lye in the past and move on��.then well that�s his problem, not yours. Now I know his father is in town and that�s making everything worse, but again���.� Sonny just watched as she walked back and forth making no point what so ever. He knew what she was trying to do and there was no way he was going allow her to do it to him, not this time, not again. For all he cared she could wear a path in his carpet and making every meaningless point there was to make but he was not going to forget the fact that her hand is broken and his daughter is terrified somebody is going to hurt her again. �You know Sonny I really think you�ve done all you can do when it comes to Ric.� She looks up he stairs. �Listen today was great, the kids loved spending the day with you�.and what the heck so did I.� He couldn�t help but smile at her last remark. �But the girls and I really need to get going.� She walks over and kisses his cheek. �I�m really sorry I can�t help you with Ric but I think you already knew that.� She quickly heads towards the door. �Why does Kristina think somebody is trying to hurt you?� �What?� Alexis asked walking back to him. �Where on earth did that come from?� �Did something happened that you don�t want me to know about? �Sonny, if something were going on, I�d tell you about it. And if Kristina thinks somebody is out to hurt me then you have nobody to blame but yourself.� �You�re blaming me?� �Well we did move thanks to this war you have with Trevor Lansing. She�s always followed by big men with no necks, who mind you are carrying illegal firearms and lastly you pull her out of school in the middle of the day, in her mind, for no reason. How can she not notice thins aren�t normal.� �I still think it�s more then that Alexis.� Sonny replied as his phone rang. �It�s fine answer it.� �What?� Sonny yelled. �No that isn�t acceptable�..listen I don�t have time to deal with this right now��..I don�t pay you to think I pay you to take care of things.� He yelled louder as he slammed the phone down. Alexis looked over his right shoulder and noticed Kristina standing in the doorway. �Hey sweetie.� She smiled as she walked over to her. �You ready to go home.� �Alexis we aren�t finished��� �Yes we are.� She stated firmly as she cut him off. �Kristina, Molly and I had a wonderful day but we really have to get going.� �Mommy I don�t want to go home. I want to stay here at daddy�s. Can we stay mommy?� Sonny walks over and picks Kristina up. �You can stay with me anytime you want.� �I love you daddy.� Kristina squealed as she threw her arms around him. �Whatever.� Alexis replied kissing her on the top of her head. �Make sure she�s not late for school, please.� She takes Kristina from him. �And you little girl make sure you behave yourself for your daddy and I will see you tomorrow after school.� �You�re not leaving, are you mommy?� Kristina cried �Sweetie you�ve said with your daddy plenty of times what�s the matter?� �I don�t want you to go. I want you to stay!� She cried louder. �Excuse me Ms Davis.� Milo said entering the room. �Molly is awake and she�s asking for you.� �Thank you Milo. Can you please let her know that I�ll be right there.� She turned her attention back to a crying Kristina. �Mommy has to go up stairs and get your sister. I promise you we won�t leave, but can you do me a favor and stop crying.� She stopped slightly. �Thank you.� Alexis gave her a big hug. �Now I�m going to give you to your daddy and I�ll be back in a little bit okay?� Kristina shook her head yes as Alexis handed her over to Sonny. She then kissed her on the side of her face and headed up the stairs after Molly. �What do you say we go over to the couch and have a little talk?� Sonny asked Kristina making his way over to the couch. �I don�t want mommy to go.� �Can you tell daddy why you don�t want her to go.� �I don�t like when he yells at her.� She said looking away from him. �When who yells at her?� She didn�t say anything so he asked again. �When who yells at mommy, Kristina?� �I can�t tell you, he�ll just get mad and yell at her some more.� �Honey I need you to tell me who you are talking about because if you don�t I can�t help your mommy.� �You can�t save mommy, daddy.� �Sure I can.� �No you can�t.� She shook her head aggressively. �If you could save mommy you�d be with us instead of having other people follow us around. I don�t like them daddy.� �Kristina did one of the people I have helping you and mommy, yell at her?� �I told you, I can�t tell you.� �Kristina you need to stop playing games and tell me the truth right now!� Sonny screamed causing her to cry harder. �What is going on in here?� Alexis demanded to know as she placed Molly on the chair and walked over and picked up Kristina. �I�m sorry.� Sonny replied. �I didn�t mean to yell at her.� �It�s been along day and I really think we all need to get some sleep. So will you please ask Max or Milo to take us home.� �I want to stay here with daddy.� �Kristina I really think you need to go home and sleep in your own bed tonight.� �She has a perfectly fine bed upstairs.� Sonny interjected. �We are going home.� Alexis stated firmly giving him a don�t start with me look. �Fine then I�m going with you.� �Excuse me.� Sonny walked over to his desk and picked up the phone. He pushed a button and waited for a few moments. �Bring the car around front.� Alexis placed Kristina on the chair next to Molly and walked over to Sonny. �What do you think you are doing?� �Don�t give me that look counselor, I�m going with you.� She looks up the stairs. �Have you forgotten that you have two little boys upstairs?� He grabs her face and kisses her. �What a great idea.� �What?� He can�t help but laugh as he walks over picks up Molly, takes Kristina�s hand and yells up the stairs. �Boy�s pack you PJ�s we�re spending the night at Kristina�s.� �You�re what? Alexis asked like he was out of his mind. �When Carly finds out she�ll kill you.� He looks Alexis straight in the eyes. �My daughter needs me and that�s all Carly needs to know.� |
