CHAPTER 3

Alexis rolled over in her bed as the music started blazing through her right ear. �Shut up!� She yelled as she throw her pillow at the alarm clock, crashing it to the floor.

�I wasn�t sure if you�d be up.� Emily stated peeking her head slightly through the door. �Is it safe to come in.�

Alexis looks over at her and notices she has her scrubs on. �Please don�t tell me your on your way to work already?�

�No. I�m actually just getting home.� She replied picking up the alarm clock and placing it back on the nightstand.

�Oh please just throw it through the window.�

�I just though I�d let you know that both Molly and Kristina have already eaten breakfast and that Sonny is downstairs waiting to take Kristina to the park.�

�Ohhh.� Alexis muffled into her pillow. �I forgot he was coming this morning.� She starts to get up.

�Alexis don�t worry I told him you were still asleep and Viola is getting her ready.�

She plops her body back down onto the bed. �I still have to get up. I have to meet a client�.� She looks at the clock . �In less then an hour.�

�Why don�t you let me cancel the meeting for you so you can get some rest. Those pain pills have got to be kicking in.�

�Oh I can feel them alright.� Alexis half laughed.

�Alright then it�s settled. I�ll cancel your meeting and let Sonny know that you�ll call him later on today.�

�Sonny!� Alexis screamed as she sat up straight. �He doesn�t know about my hand does he?�

�No, don�t worry I didn�t say anything.�

�Good because the last thing I need is him on Nikolas case.�

�Daddy!� Kristina squealed as she came running into the living room and onto his lap. �I missed you so much.�

�And I missed you ever more.� He replied as he kissed the top of her head. �How�s my little girl doing?�

She looks up at him. �I�m not a little girl daddy, I�m a big girl.�

�Well yes you are.� He laughed. �But to me you�ll always be my little girl no matter how big you get.�

�You�re silly daddy.� Kristina laughed back.

�He plops her on the floor in front of him. �So you ready to go to the park.�

She looks down. �I don�t want to go to the park daddy.�

�You don�t?�

Shaking her head. �No Daddy I don�t. I want to stay here with mommy.�

�Kristina is something wrong?� Sonny asked very concerned.

�I just want to stay with my mommy.� Kristina replied very quietly.

�Is mommy not feeling well, sweetie? I know Emily told me she�s still sleeping.�

Just then Nikolas walked into the room and Kristina jumped back into Sonny�s lap and hugged him tight.

�Good Morning Sonny.� Nikolas stated as he walked past him and picked up a pile of papers.

�Nikolas.� Sony replied being just as courteous for Kristina�s sake.

�Daddy can Molly and Mommy come with us to the park.� Kristina whispered in his ear.�

�Sweetie if mommy isn�t feeling well, I�m sure she�s not going to want to go.�

Getting upset. �But she has to come daddy, she just has to.�

�okay.� Sonny replied not being able to figure out just what was wrong with his daughter. �Why don�t you go upstairs and see if she�s awake.�

Kristina gets off his lap and looks over at Nikolas. Sonny can�t make out the look in her eyes but he knows something is off. She quickly grabs Sonny�s hand and pulls him with her. He allows her to pull him up the stairs and down the hall. She lets go of his hand as they enter Alexis�s bedroom. Kristina runs over and jumps on the bed.

�Mommy come to the park with me and daddy and Morgan and Michael and Molly. Please mommy please come with us.� She begs as she holds her tight.

Alexis holds her daughter in a reassuring way. �Kristina what�s the matter.�

�I want you to come to the park with us, please mommy.�

�Mommy would love to go to the park with you and your sister but not today okay, you�re going with your daddy and your brothers.�

�Why can�t you come with us!� She pleaded.

Sonny noticed the prescription bottle and the glass of water on her nightstand. He walked over to the foot of her bed. �Kristina honey, why don�t you go tell Viola to make sure Molly�s read to go to the park.�

Alexis was startled to see him standing there.

�Kristina wouldn�t take no for an answer.�

�And that�s why you standing in my bedroom while I�m in my bed.� She stated somewhat blushing.

�Does this mean you and Molly are coming to the park with us mommy? Does it.�

Alexis looks up at Sonny. �It means daddy is apparently taking your sister with you.� She looks back at Kristina. �So why don�t you do as your daddy asked and go check on her.�

�Okay mommy.� Kristina squeals happily as she jumps off the bed and runs out o the room.

�Do you think you can hand me my robe, on the back of the door please?� Alexis asked clearly embarrassed about him stand there.

Smirking �Why? I kinda like the way you look now.�

�My robe please.�

He walks over to the door and picks it up. �This one here?�

Trying so hard not to blush anymore then she already knows that she is. �Yes that one.�

Still holding it. �I like it.� He rubs it across his face. �You know I�ve always loved the feel of Satin�..don�t you Alexis.�

Holding her sheet tighter to her body. �If you don�t mind.�

Smiling almost laughingly. �No I don�t mind a bit.�

�Sonny why are you doing this to me?�

�Doing what to you Alexis?� He asked walking closer to her.

Looking away from him. �Can I have my robe please?�

He looks her up and down and then hands it to her. �Do you need some help counselor?�

�No, but I would like you to leave my room, so I can get dressed.�

�I�ll wait for you downstairs.� He stated seductively as he walked out of the room.

She threw her robe at him just as the door closed. �The nerve of that man� she laughed as she pulled her hand out from under the sheets. �Well lets hope he�ll buy the fact that I slammed my own hand in the door.�

�Molly�s already daddy.� Kristina yelled as she ran down the hall and into his arms. �Is mommy getting dressed?�

He looks at her bedroom down and smiles. �I think so.�

They walk down the hall and into Kristina�s room. He picks her up and places her on the edge of her bed and he kneels in front of her.

�Kristina why is it so important that mommy and Molly go to the park with us?�

Kristina doesn�t say a word, which makes Sonny worry even more.

�Sweetie you know you can tell daddy anything, right?�

She shakes her head yes.

�Are you afraid mommy is going to get sick again?�

She shakes her head no.

Grasping at straws now. �Are you afraid something bad is going to happen to mommy?�

To Sonny�s surprise she shakes her head yes.

�Can you tell daddy what bad thing you think is going to happen to mommy if your not with her?�

�No he�ll hurt her again.� Kristina suddenly screamed

You could so see the concern and the anger build up in Sonny. �Kristina somebody hurt mommy?� She looked away from him and he pulled her eyes back to hers. �Kristina who hurt mommy?�

Kristina was just about to answer when Alexis walked through the door. �You guys ready to go?�

Kristina jumped off her bed and ran into her mother�s arms. �I love you mommy.� She gave her a big hug and kiss.

�Not half as much as I love you.� Alexis replied butting their noses together.

Sonny noticed the cast on Alexis�s hand. �What happened.�

�Oh it�s no big deal.� She replied as she basically dismissed his question and started to talk to Kristina as they exited the room. �I�m so glad you asked me and your sister to come with you and your brothers and daddy to the park.�

Sonny didn�t say a word as he watched her leave the room. He knew right there, that instant that Alexis�s broken hand and Kristina�s fears were one in the same but this wasn�t the time to approach the subject. Instead he just picked Kristina�s jacket off of her bed, shook his head and followed them out of the room.
