| CHAPTER 26
�You haven�t said a word since we left the station Alexis.� Sonny said as she made her way through her living room and back into her bedroom. �I thought you said you believed me.� He yelled. �I do.� She replied walking back out of her room. �Please keep it down the girls are sleeping.� �I wanted to kill him Alexis, I really did. But you asked me not to and I promise you I wouldn�t.� �I already know who did it.� She said staring out the window. He draws his hand down his face. �What do I have to do to make you believe me?� She looks back at him. �I know who is responsible and I know it wasn�t you.� He walked over to her. �Who?� She turned away from him and looked back out. �I can�t tell you.� �You can�t or you won�t?� He yelled �It�s all my fault.� She replied as a tear escaped its lid. He quickly turned her body in his arms and forced her to look at him. �Are you telling me you had this done to him?� �No.� She cried. �But I�m might as well have.� �Alexis you�re making no sense.� �I�m sorry I just can�t tell you. I would if I could �.. But I can�t.� she says as the phone rings. �Can you please get that?� �Let it be.� �It might be the hospital.� She said wiping her tears. Sonny kissed the top of her head and walked over and picked up the phone. �Hello�..okay thank you.� �Was it the hospital?� Alexis asked as she sat on the couch and wrapped a blanket around her legs. Sonny sat on the coffee table. �Ric went into a coma.� Her tears overcame her. �You know I shouldn�t even care after everything he�s done to me in the past few years if he dies or not but god help me I do.� He took the blanket and brought it higher so it covered her shoulders and then he sat next to her and pulled her close. �I did love him and I guess part of me always will��... Especially when I look at our little girl asleep in her room��.. I don�t want her to grow up without him.� Sonny didn�t know what to say so he just let her cry on his shoulder and ramble on until she finally fell asleep. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* An hour or so later Sonny picks up a sleeping Alexis off the couch and carries her back to her room. Carefully without waking her he mange�s to slide her jeans off her legs. She shifted her body as he lifted her to place her under the sheets. He kissed her lightly on the lips and almost woke her as his cell phone rang. �Shhhhh.� He whispered to her. �Its okay, go back to sleep.� Quietly he exited the room and answered his phone. �What?� �Is everything okay boss?� Milo asked on the other end �Everything�s fine.� �Then why are you whisperings?� �Sorry.� Sonny replied in a regular tone. �I just put Alexis to bed is all. What do you have for me?� �It seems the prince and your brother got into earlier today.� �Were there any witnesses?� �There was a young couple walking through the park who saw the whole thing.� �Have they spoke to the cops or said anything to anyone else yet?� Sonny asked. �Not that I know of, but I�ll find out.� Sonny opened Alexis�s door a crack and looked in on her. She looked so peaceful. He wasn�t a hundred percent sure if Nikolas was the person she was trying to protect but he knew what he had to do. �Milo I want you to find out if they�ve told anybody yet and if not �..� �Yes sir?� �Pay them enough to keep their mouths shut. I�ll take care of Nikolas myself.� �Yes sir.� Sonny heard Milo say as he hung up the phone. �Mommy, mommy.� Molly cried Sonny walked into the room and picked her up. �Mommy�s sleeping princess, will Uncle Sonny do?� �I want my mommy.� Molly cried. �Shhhhh� Sonny whispered. �I�ll lay you in bed with your mommy if you stop crying.� Like magic Molly instantly stopped crying. �Okay.� �Okay.� Sonny laughed as he blew kisses into her stomach. He waited for Molly to stop laughing before he opened Alexis�s door and placed Molly on the bed next to her. �Promise Uncle Sonny that you�ll go back to sleep and not wake you�re mommy.� �I promise.� Molly said as Sonny tucked her in and the little girl held out her arms to him. �I love you Uncle Sonny.� �I love you too.� Sonny whispered as he gave her a big hug. �I�ll check back in a little bit and you better be sleeping.� Molly shook her head yes as Alexis rolled over and placed her arms around her daughter. Sonny quietly walked out into the hall closing the door behind him. �Is there anything I can do for you or Ms. Davis?� Max who was standing in the hall asked. �Just stay here and keep an eye on her.� Sonny replied. �I�ll be in the other room, come and get me if she wakes up.� �Yes sir.� Max said as Sonny made his way into the living room. Sonny walked over and picked up a bottle of scotch and poured himself a stiff drink. He then walked over and opened the front door of the lake house, waving two of his men into the house. �I need you to go to Spoon Island and bring me Nikolas Cassadine.� �Right away sir.� The two men said in unison ^^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* Sonny made a few more calls before he headed back into Alexis�s bedroom. He took off his suit jacket and hung it on the back of a near by chair before sitting in it. He smiled as he watch both Molly and Alexis�s heart beat slowly up and down. He was so glad she was able to sleep but he knew her calmness wasn�t going to last long when he tells her the hospital called again. He thought for a moment about waking her so she could go down and see Ric one last time just in case the worse case scenario happened, but he thought better against the idea. He found no reason to wake her up and upset her all over again. Or was it just the fact that he couldn�t stand seeing her in so much pain�.or worse yet he thought to himself, over his useless, good for nothing brother who in his mind didn�t deserve one single tear that she shed for him. His mind jerked for a minute when he realized there were times that he himself wasn�t very nice to her and then she deserved so much more then he�s ever given her so who was he to sit in judgment about how she should be feeling. His thoughts made his eyes swell and he though he was seeing things when a small big eyed brown eyed looked girl looked up at him from the foot of her mother�s bed. �Hey there sweetie.� Sonny said as he held his arms out to her. �What are you doing out of bed?� Kristina ran over and jumped into her daddy�s arms. �Why was mommy crying before?� �She�s just upset because Molly�s daddy got hurt tonight and he�s in the hospital.� �Is daddy Ric going to die like mommy almost did?� �You�re mommy�s fine now sweetie and there was no way we were going to let cancer take her from us.� �Does daddy Ric have cancer too?� �How about instead of calling him daddy Ric, we call him Uncle Ric like Molly call�s me Uncle Sonny.� Sonny said as his body shrieked every time he heard his little girl say daddy Ric. �Mommy told me to call him daddy Ric thou.� Kristina said confused. �Well that�s because you�re mommy and Molly�s daddy were married and you were all living together and she didn�t want Uncle Ric�s feelings to be hurt.� �Then why doesn�t Molly call you daddy Sonny?� Sonny laughed slightly. �How about you call Ric, Uncle Ric or just Ric and Molly will call me Uncle Sonny.� �Okay.� Kristina said as she jumped off his lap and climbed into bed with Alexis and Molly. Sonny�s cell phone vibrated. �I�m going to go in the other room make sure you don�t wake your mommy or sister okay.� �Okay.� Kristina said as Sonny kissed her on the forehead. �I love you Uncle Daddy Sonny.� �I love you too.� He replied as he shook his head and walked out into the other room. �Corinthos here.� �We can�t seem to find Nikolas Cassadine anywhere.� �What do you mean you can�t find him?� Sonny demanded to know. �We�ve looked everywhere Sir and he�s no where to be found.� �Keep somebody on the launch he has to show up sooner or later.� �Yes sir.� �And when he returns grab him and call me before you do anything.� Sonny said as he hung up his cell. �Who you plan on kidnapping now?� Alexis asked as she stood just down the hall. �What are you doing up?� He asked as he walked up to her. �You didn�t answer my question.� �I didn�t think it was a question you�d want to know the answer to.� Alexis gave him an evil smile as she walked past him and made her way over to the couch. �Have you heard anything about Ric?� �Sonny walked over and sat down next to her.� They called about an hour ago and said he�s still in critical condition.� �What aren�t you telling me Sonny.� �Other then my so called plans of kidnapping.� She started to say something but he stopped her. �And just for the record counselor the only person in this room that can be accused and convicted of kidnapping is you.� He smiled �or maybe you should be held on some kind of stealing charges because lord knows you�ve stolen my heart.� Alexis tilted her head and gave him an oh please don�t even try and change the subject look. �Ok fine.� He put his arm around her back and pulled her half way onto his lap. �They don�t think he�s gonna make it thought the night.� �There�s gotta be something we can do for him Sonny.� �I made a few phone calls and got the name of a really good specialist but he won�t be able to get here until early morning.� �If Ric last that long.� �Hey we can�t think that way.� Sonny said holding her tighter. �I just don�t want him to die.� Sonny still wasn�t sure why she felt the way she did but he knew he had to do everything he possible could do to help save his brother�s life. Especially if Nikolas was the one who did this to him. He knew she�d never be able to live with herself if Ric died at the hands of her nephew. |
