| CHAPTER 24
Alexis is sitting in her office typing away at her laptop, when there was a knock at the door. �Come in.� She replied. �Good Morning Mrs. Corinthos I have a package that needs your signature.� The man standing in front of her desk stated. She looked over top of her glasses. �Mrs. Corinthos?� He looks back at the package. �You are Alexis Corinthos, correct?� �Who is the package from?� �Your husband.� He answered. She took the package from him and signed Alexis Davis to it. She waited for him to leave before she pulled a plaque out of the envelope. �You got a minute?� Jax asked entering her office. �I always have time for you.� She replied as she put the envelope over top of the plaque. �So what brings you by so early in the morning?� �I was wondering if you�ve heard from Jerry?� He asked sittings down. �Not in over a week.� �Did he give you any idea of what he was up to when you last spoke with him?� �He just told me if was in trouble and only I could help but I�m sorry Jax�s he never said what it was.� He stands up and kisses her on the cheek. �If you hear from him please let me know right away.� �I will.� She promised before he left. She took the envelope off the plaque and looked at it once more before she picked up her phone and dialed his number. �You know you really have to stop sneaking out of bed so early in the morning.� Sonny laughed answering her call. �I told you I had to be in court early.� �You still could have woken me before you left.� Alexis grins brightly. �Every time I do that you always make me late.� �Have you given anymore thought about ditching your clients and coming back and working for me.� She holds the plaque up which reads �ALEXIS DAVIS-CORINTHOS�. �But then I�d have no use for this pretensions plaque you bought me.� �I�m sure we can find something to do with it.� He laughs. �Can you get out of there for a few minutes?� �What�d you have in mind?� �I�m upstairs in the dinning room and would love for you to join me for a late breakfast.� �I�ll be there in a few.� She replied hanging up the phone. �Excuse me Ms. Davis.� Her secretary said over the intercom. �Mr. Ric Lansing is here to see you.� Alexis breathed deeply. �Let him in.� �Good morning Alexis.� Ric said sarcastically as he walked into her office. �What do you want Ric?� She asked coldly. �I ran into Carly late last night and she was shocked that I had no idea my ex-wife and the mother of my child was getting married to my mobster older brother.� �Carly had no right to say anything to you or anybody else.� Alexis said annoyed. �I don�t hear you denying it, Alexis!� �Sonny and I haven�t made anything official yet.� �But he did ask and you said yes?� She leaned against the back of her chair. �I had ever intention of letting you know.� He slams a tri folded piece of paper down on her desk. �What is this?� She asked in disgust. �I�m suing you for emergency temporary custody of Molly.� �Based on what!� She yelled standing up. �You�ve got to be kidding me, Alexis.� He yelled back. �I should have done this months ago when I found out the two of you were living together.� She flung her glasses down on her desk and picked up her phone. �Get out of my office, NOW!� �Don�t bother trying to fight it Alexis.� He calmly stated. �The order has already been approved and the officers are at your home now retrieving my daughter.� �Retrieving my daughter!� Alexis screamed. �She�s a child not a dog and I�m not going to let you get away with this.� He throws another tri folded piece of paper at her. �The court date is set for early next week. I suggest you reconsider marrying my brother before then.� Alexis takes her closed laptop off her desk and throws at him as he turns to leave. He turns and looks at her. �I didn�t feel a thing however your laptop looks broken, you really do need to control that anger issue you have.� �Anger issue.� She yells as she picks up a paper weight and lunges it at him. �I�ll show you and anger issue.� He gets a text message on his phone and looks at it. �It seems my daughter is home waiting for me.� He blows her a kiss. �Have a nice life Alexis.� �You bastard.� She screams as she throws something else against the now closed door. **^*^*^*^^^***^*^^^*^*^^*^*^^*^*^^^^*^^^*^*^*^*^^*^^^*^*^*^*^*^*^ Alexis is leaning back against her desk chair with her hands over her face crying. Both her office phone and cell phone have rung several times but she refuses to answer them. �Hey you, I thought you were meeting me upstairs��..� Sonny started to say walking through her door. Bur stopped when he noticed her crying uncontrollably. He runs over, bends down and hold her tight. �What happened?� �Your pathetic bastard brother took my daughter.� �What?� Sonny asked. �When did this happen. She hands him the emergency custody order. �Just a few minutes ago.� �I�m not going to allow him to get away with this.� Sonny yelled as he stood up. �Where are you going?� Alexis yelled as he walked out. �To get your daughter back one way or another.� �Sonny please don�t do anything stupid!� She pleaded as she caught up with him at the elevator. �He had no right do this to you again!� �I can fight the court system a lot easier if my fianc�e isn�t in jail for attempted murder.� He looked her dead in the eyes. �Who said anything about attempted murder. Trust me there isn�t going to be anything attempted about it.� The elevator doors open and Alexis grabbed his arm so he couldn�t enter. �You can�t kill him.� �Why not?� He yelled. �Ric Lansing has done nothing but try and destroy me ever since he set foot in this town.� Alexis looks around and notices the hall becoming crowded with people. �Can we please go back and talk about this in my office?� �There�s nothing left to talk about Alexis, Ric needs to be dealt with once and for all.� She pushes him onto the elevator and closed the door. �Do you realize how many people you just threaten to kill the D.A. in front of?� �Fine I won�t kill him, I�ll just make him disappear.� Alexis pushed the button on the elevator causing it to come to a screeching halt. �If you do anything to him you�ll be the prime suspect and I�m not even going to be able to get you out of it��� I�m a lawyer Sonny, not a miracle worker!� �What do you want me to do Alexis?� He asked completely annoyed. �Do you want me to just sit back and watch my brother destroy you.� He takes her face in his hands. �Look at you��.I can�t do that Alexis. I can�t let him hurt you like this. I can�t handle it.� �And I can�t handle it if you�re in jail?� She replied. �What do you want me to tell the girls when they ask where you are? Why you�re not coming home?� �Home.� He laughs. �Alexis it�s been over a week since you accepted my proposal and yet you won�t set a wedding date, you won�t let me tell the kids were getting married, heck you won�t let me throw you an official engagement party announcing it to anybody �..and you refuse to either let me move in or pack up the girls and move in with me���so tell me what kind of home do we even have?� �I�m sorry Sonny it�s just the whole idea of marriage terrifies me.� �You�ve been married twice before Alexis you think by now you�d be use to it!� �That�s not fair.� She insisted. �Jax and I only got married to help a friend and Ric and I only got married��.� She stopped herself. �To keep me from my daughter.� He finished. �Things were different back then Sonny, you have to understand that.� Sonny pushed the button on the elevator causing it to move again. �The only thing I see Alexis is the mother of my daughter and the woman I love is still to this day, ashamed of me.� She grabs his arm as the doors open. �That�s not true Sonny and you know that. I�ve never been ashamed of you and I never could be.� �Then prove it?� He demanded. �Set a wedding date.� She pulls him off the elevator. �I�ll do better then that.� She replied as she pulled him into the main lobby. �Excuse me.� She yelled as she wrapped her arm around him. Sam, Maxie, Milo, Max, Jax and a few other people who were standing in the lobby stopped and looked at her. �I�d like to officially announce my engagement.� She looks him dead in the eyes. �To the man who I have loved way before our first daughter was even conceived.� She kisses him briefly. �Mr. Sonny Corinthos.� Everybody looked at her like she was basically out of her mind but they clapped anyway. �And you�re all invited to attend the festivities in two weeks from today at the Greystone manor.� She continued before pulling him in for one hot and heavy kiss. �Two weeks.� He yelled pulling her out of the kiss. �Have you lost you�re mind. We can�t plan a wedding in two weeks.� �We nothing.� She laughed. �I�m leaving every last detail up to you.� She pulled him closer. �Other then my dress of course, I�ll handle that all on my own.� He shook his head. �I�m so glad I have so many people working for me.� Suddenly becoming serious. �We still have the issue of Ric to deal with.� Holding her even tighter then before. �I promise I won�t do anything to him.� He raises his right eyebrow. �Right now.� �Thank you.� She replied with a kiss. �So councilor how do we get our daughter back.� �Legally.� She smiles. |
