Carly looked at Alexis. �If the reason you and Sonny are getting married is because you�re pregnant?� �What?� Alexis yelled as she looked at Sonny. �You told her I was pregnant?� Sonny waved his hands in the air. �I never said anything about us having another baby.� �He just told me he was going to ask you to marry him.� Carly shot out. �So how far along are you anyway?� Alexis laughed an evil laugh as she walked over to Sonny grabbed a hold of his tie and pulled him out of Carly�s ear range. �You told me you were kidding about this marriage crap!� �I was.� Sonny smiled. �But the more I thought about it the more I liked the sound of Alexis Davis Corinthos.� �Excuse me.� Carly yelled. �But I�m still here.� Alexis turned and looked at her. �Then why don�t you leave?� Carly looked at the two of them in disbelief. �You know you two deserve each other.� �Bye Bye.� Alexis mouthed as Carly left the room. Sonny pulled a small black box out of his pocket. He tapped Alexis on the shoulder and she turned around. �What?� She asked upset. He lifted the box and opened it. �Will you marry me?� Alexis took a step back. �You want me to marry you? I am so mad at you right now and you expect me to say yes to a marriage proposal?� �I shouldn�t have mentioned it to Carly and I�m really sorry she blurted it out like that. I promise you I�ll deal with her later.� �Forget Carly, and no you shouldn�t have told her.� �I�m also sorry about what happened earlier but I won�t change my mind.� Alexis walked over and sat on the couch. �Sonny why are you doing this?� �Because I love you and I want us to spend the rest of our lives together.� She looks at him. �I knew things between us were going to be difficult at best but I can�t live like this anymore. I hate the bodyguards, I hate the constant death threats, I hate the fact��..� �Hold on a second.� He says cutting her off. �You live with fear everyday whether I�m in your life or not, thanks to your family.� �But I�m not surrounded by bodyguards and they don�t stop me from doing things I want to do.� He goes over and sits on the couch next to her. �The bodyguards will never go away Alexis, marriage or no marriage. You and I share a child together, so that is not up for debate.� She put her hand over her face. �Why did you tell Carly I was pregnant?� �I swear I didn�t.� He replied. �I just wanted her to know I was going to ask you to be my wife out of respect for both her and the boys. I never said anything about you being pregnant.� �Do you want any more children?� �I love my kids Alexis you know that?� �That�s not what I asked.� He takes a deep breath. �I don�t know I really never thought about it.� �Sonny we have a problem.� Jason said walking back into the room. Sonny got up and walked over to him. �I need you to take care of this yourself.� Jason didn�t say a word as he walked out of the room. Sonny turned and looked at Alexis. �You never answered my question?� �I don�t know what to say.� Smiling. �Yes, would work.� She gets up and walks over to him. �Do you honestly think we can make a marriage work?� �Yes, I do.� He said. �See how easy that was to say.� Somewhat laughing. �It�s not that I don�t want to marry you Sonny, it�s just��..� �It�s just nothing.� He said cutting her off. �We can make this work Alexis, I promise you we can.� �You promised Carly the same thing Sonny but that didn�t stop the two of you from eventually divorcing.� She replied as tears began to fall freely. �That�s not fair Alexis. Carly and I got married for all the wrong reason�s.� �The first time maybe but you loved her when the two of you got re-married.� �But I loved you more.� He said putting his arms around her. �I let you go once Alexis and I�ve paid for it ever since. I love you and I want to marry you.� �I love you too Sonny, but I don�t know if��� He put his finger over her mouth. �Shhhh�.. This isn�t how I wanted any of this to happen.� He closes the ring box and puts it in her hand. �I love you Alexis from the deepest part of my being. And it kills me not to spend every waking hour with you�.. But at the same time I know that�s just not possible.� He pulls her into a deep kiss. �But I do know if we get married I can spend every night waking up with you in my arms, where you belong.� �You spend just about every night as it is.� She somewhat jokes. �People already think we�re living together.� �But we�re not.� He plainly commented. �Is this what this is really about?� �What this is about Alexis. Is that we are two people who love each other. Who share a child together. And who deserve to spend the rest of their lives together.� He holds her tighter. �Just say yes and everything else will fall into place.� �I need sometime to think about it.� �Okay.� He said disappointed. �I�m not saying no Sonny, I�m just ��.� �Not saying yes.� He said finishing her sentence. She looks over his shoulder and notices Jason walk back into the room. �I�m sorry but they insist on talking with you.� Alexis places her hands on his face. �It�s okay, go deal with the problem.� Sonny nodded his head and Jason left the room. �Do me a favor and don�t take to long to think about my proposal.� He kissed her forehead. �Because I know you Alexis Davis and I can so tell you want to say yes right here and now and you�ll think yourself right out of doing what you want to do.� �I promise.� She said as her lips found their way to his. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* �Hey there stranger.� Jax said as he sat down on the bench next to Alexis. �The girls are getting so big.� Alexis leaned her head against Jax�s shoulder as she kept an eye on Viola pushing Molly and Kristina on the swings. �Thanks for meeting me here.� He lifted her head and snaked his arm around her next. �Want to talk about it?� �I don�t know what to do. If I say no I�ll hurt not only him but myself. And if I say yes my life will never be the same.� �I don�t know what the question is Alexis but it sounds to me like your life will never be the same no matter which you choose.� Alexis keep her head on his shoulder and quietly said. �Sonny asked me to marry him.� Jax took in what she said for a moment and then spoke. �You know how I feel about Sonny Alexis but this isn�t about him, it�s about you and what it is you want.� �I knew you�d understand.� She intertwined her fingers in his. �Even if you didn�t want to.� �Alexis what is your heart telling you to do.� �It�s telling me I should say yes. But my brain is telling me I�m crazy.� �All I�ve ever wanted was for you to be happy, and that�s never gonna change.� He takes a deep breath. �And as much as this is going to kill me to say�. I�ve seen you with Sonny lately and I really think he�s what you truly need in your life to make that possible.� She looks up at him. �Are you telling me you�ll give me your blessing if I say yes?� He kisses her forehead. �Yea, I will.� �Will you walk me down the isle and give me away?� �I�ll walk you down the isle but I�ll never truly give you away.� He smiled. �I love you.� Pulling her into a hug. �I love you too.� |
