Later on that night Alexis is sitting up in the bed, her satin light pink sheet barely covering her body. She�s hugging her legs as she looks over at the alarm clock which reads 2:28am. She cocks her head and looks back at a sleeping Sonny. He looks so peaceful and content. She leans down and kisses his forehead several times before sitting back up. She can�t help but think about what Jax said earlier about Sonny and Carly. How they had a bond that nobody could beat, a connection nobody could break through. And then she heard Sonny�s voice in her head �what I love about you�. Did he really love her, or was he using her until Carly came back to him. Like he�s done in the past. She knew she had to stop thinking like that but it was just so hard to do. He has hurt her so much in the past and she knew she couldn�t live through that pain again. �Hey you.� Sonny said reaching up and touching her shoulder. �What are you thinking about?� �Nikolas.� Alexis lied. �I can�t get him out of my mind. He leans up and kisses her bare shoulder. �Alexis it�s 2 something in the morning there�s nothing you can do for him at this hour.� He pulls her down. �Try and get some sleep.� She lays her head on his shoulder and looks into her eyes. �Can I ask you something?� �You can ask me anything.� He replied running his fingers up and down her arm. She knew she had to find out what he felt for her once and for all. She had to know if he really wanted her as much as she wanted and needed him. Or if everything Jax said was true. She took a deep breath and tried so desperately to find the right words without making herself look any more gullible or neurotic then she already felt. �I need you to tell me that you��.� She stopped speaking for a moment. �I mean how do you ����..what do you ���do you even��..� �Just say it Alexis.� He said with concern in his voice. �I promise I don�t bite.� He nibbles on her ear. �Hard anyway.� She just couldn�t find the words so she said the first thing that came to her mind. The one thing she knew would let both of them off the hook of any true feeling ever coming out. �I don�t think it�s a good idea if you�re here in the morning when the girls get up is all.� �The girls love when I make them breakfast.� He shot back. �And I thought you did too?� �I do Sonny. I just don�t want the girls anymore confused then they already are.� �Those kids of yours are very well adjusted Alexis. I hardly doubt their confused about anything.� He replies crashing his mouth over hers. �Why do you insist on making things so difficult?� She asked as his hands started to wander freely about her body. �I�m not the one making things difficult here Alexis.� He replied rolling her body on his. �You are. The girls seem fine with me being here. I don�t understand why you don�t.� �They�ve gone through one very difficult divorce Sonny and I don�t want them to basically go through another. To wake up one morning and wonder why you aren�t here.� She said looking as thou she wanted to cry. He stopped trying to seduce her and rolled her back over onto her back. �Do you think I�m going somewhere Alexis?� �Let�s face it Sonny you love Carly and you always will.� He pushed a stray strain of hair from her face. �Yes it�s true Carly will always be a part of my life because of Michael and Morgan but things between us changed for good when she married Jax. She made it clear that she was moving on with her life and that I needed to do the same.� He smiles at her. �I just didn�t realize I didn�t need to move forward in my life I needed to move back and reclaim the one thing I should have never let go off.� �You defiantly know how to say all the right words.� He counties to play with her hair. �They�re not just words Alexis. It�s the way I feel. I know we�ve been through a lot in the past few years. Your sister�s death, me finding out Kristina was my daughter, the whole custody case��..� �My disastrous marriage to your brother Ric.� She added �I don�t know what you ever saw in that man.� �He had his moments.� She relied. He just gave her a whatever you say look. �Sonny?� �Yeah.� �About the whole custody fight and not being truthful from the beginning that I was carrying your child.� �Alexis it�s in the past and we�ve moved forward since then��. stronger then before in fact.� �I know, it�s just I wanted you to know how sorry I am and how I wish I could take it all back and do it over again.� Her tear ducks started to let lose and she could no longer hold them back. �I know you�d never let anything happen to Kristina and you�re an excellent father. Both Kristina and Molly love you so much.� �And I love them.� He flashed his dimples at her. �And their mother, very much.� Alexis couldn�t even speak, she just looked at him like she was dreaming and was going to wake up at any minute. �I know I should have told you how I felt about you a long time ago but I just couldn�t.� Sonny continues. �I don�t know why really��. except I guess something in side of me told me if I ever told you I loved you it would show my weakness for you�..and well I just couldn�t have that.� �Just do me a favor and pinch me please.� Alexis jokingly stated. �This isn�t a dream Alexis. I�m not going to wake you in the morning and not remember telling you I love you.� He kisses each side of her mouth before ending up in the middle. Their tongues intertwine as their body and soul became one again. Hearing those three little words fall out of his mouth was like a ton of bricks full of denial falling off her shoulders. He really did love her and that�s all she needed to know. He can feel her heart beating a hundred miles an hour against his chest. He knew right there that he made the right choice in finally opening up his heart to her. He just wished he would have had the courage to say those words to her before he let her go all those years back. There was just something about her that drove him crazy from the inside out, but it wasn�t a bad crazy it was a crazy like he�s never felt before. A crazy he knew from this point on he could never live without. �I love you Alexis Davis.� He whispered in the dark. As they continued to make love to one another all he could think about was how stupid he was for not allowing himself to go after the one woman he really wanted. The one woman who truly understood and accepted him for who he was. The one woman who he knew could make him a better person and give him a kinder soul. He�s always known he�s loved her, and from here on out it would be the one thing she would be able to count on. �I love you too Sonny Corinthos.� She moaned as she laid her head on his chest and he wrapped his arm around her. �Goodnight my love.� He quietly spoke closing his eyes. �Goodnight.� She said biting the bottom of her lip and basking in the glory of their aftermath. |
