Rachel Innes is taking a well-earned sabbatical and will be back with a new sound, new set, new website and all new-team. She, and her management, wish to express the most heartfelt thanks to Kenny Moreland who has helped make the last six months enjoyable, successful, passionate and worthwhile. Kenny will be out and about in the Brighton area gigging in support of his stunning debut album, Cloudburst. Check here for more Kenny Moreland details ..
Agent J, Just Bizarre and Garrett will all take to the stage of The Hanbury Ballroom, during the evening of Thursday 27th June 2002, and seek to prove their hard-earned credentials as the Best of Brighton.
Innes has a voice that fits neatly between Aretha Franklin and Portishead's Beth Gibbons .." (Taken from the Guardian Online..)
As Just Bizarre shed bucketfuls of adrenalin, Jon Pratty, former Sunday Times journalist and present Editor of 24hourmuseum.org, snapped away happily as he tried to capture the moment that will be immortalised on the cover of the imminent 'Just Bizarre Live @ The Greys CD.'
And those nice guys & gals @ Virtual Brighton Magazine have compiled two articles to convince you that - 'Cloudburst' really is worth a place in any discerning music buff's collection.
Because, opening the evening is non other than the mega-talented and truly gentle, Doug Hoekstra. He of 'Around The Margins' fame has tipped his hat and recognised that in their town, Just Bizarre call the shots. Brighton & Hove truly is a one band town .... Watch this space!! The track was recorded, as a demo, @ Metway Studios (home to The Levellers) during March 2002.
Arrived @ Strummers Studio and stood anxiously waiting for the arrival of proprietor, ‘Ken’. With things going so well within the band, & these weekly rehearsals, I wanted in! Kenny Moreland & myself posed for pictures .. Watch this space .. and then it was down to business. With gigs imminent @ The Greys & 12-Bar we needed to be tight & up-to-speed.
For the uninitiated, The Evening Star, Surrey Street, Brighton, is a homely non-spit-and-polish (in the current climate of fake plastic trees, that’s a compliment) one-level drinking den. It offers rocket fuel (lager is for Hove Softies) to its clientele, and plays regular host to a Monday night open-mic for the up-and-coming & the just-plain-brave.
You've been asking in your droves .. so here, as promised, is your first
chance to catch

Kenny Moreland's new band,
just bizarre, live.
