~~Vote 2004~~

It's that every fourth year thing again. You know, when politicians insult themselves on TV for $20mil/month. Although I never vote, and this year have no plans to vote, I actually have opinions this time around. First of all, I think it's a huge waste of news broadcast television time that Teresa Heinz Kerry, John Kerry's wife, told a reporter to shove it. Like's it's some kind of big deal when people in public office get pissed off (the reporter quoted her out of context). Personally, I like when my elected representatives are passionate people. The problem was that the Kerry campaign had just spent all this time showcasing what a positive guy and warm candidate Kerry is. And now they're worried that Teresa's comments will show John as potentially negative. I think if a dude can be married to a woman with the attitude to tell a reporter to shove it, then he can handle this country's top job and a war on terrorism no prob.

Ok, predictions. Kerry will win, although it will be a tight race, decided by less than 1-2% difference in the popular vote, and 1 or 2 states in the electoral college. Unless the Marines captures Bin Laden. If they do, Bush is a shoe in. Or unless the economy creates fewer than 100,000 jobs per month between now and November. In that case, Kerry will pull a Slick Willie on GWB, like Bill did on GHWB, and come in with >5% more of the popular vote.

~~the lil' dude~~

Well, I've been an "old man" now for about 5 months. I am so surprised by how fast kids grows. I always thought babies were babies for like several years. In fact, the only two things they can't do by the end of the first year is talk and crap by themselves. Crawling, walking, teething, eating: year one. Wicked.

Another thing I can't get over is how he changed my life. My place is full of baby distraction landmines. If the fella isn't sleeping, he expects someone to entertain him, or he feels like crying to let it be known he's bored. Now the mall entertains him like nothing else. So many people and sights to distract him. He seems to love the limelight so much, I think he'll either be an actor or a politician.

That's about it. I have almost no time for anything else. Laters.
