Food: Mealworms, Waxworms, Crickets, Flightless houseflies and Waxworm moths

Distribution: Northeastern Africa, Somalia, Ethiopia

Habitat:

Color Discription: It varies from a dull sandy brown to a brilliant "brick red" body color with varying amounts of black speckling.

Physical Discription:

Size: 3" - 3 1/2"

Temperatures: 90º F - 95º F Degrees with a basking temperature of a 100º F Degrees.

Breeding/Reproduction: Clutch Usually 6 to 8 eggs are deposited. After 45 to 50 days the eggs start to darken in color and hatch within 48 hours

Cage Setup: 36"x 20"x 20". dirt (with a high clay content) at a depth of 6" to 9" in the enclosure. Bury wood trunk-like branches and flat stone slabs at an angle in the dirt (Wet the dirt thoroughly, and dry it out with high-intensity basking lamps so that it hardens)

Water: Mist heavily at least once a day all year, except September through December then skip a few days at a time. They seem to prefer to drink water droplets from leaves.
