Food: Sailfin Dragons are omnivorous. Their diet should consist mostly of insects and small rodents. As well as Fruits & Vegetables Baby rodents can be fed live, but adult mice should be prekilled so they cannot bite your Sailfin. Here are some other high protein content foods suggestions. dry maintenance dog food, tofu, and scrambled or hard-boiled eggs. When feeding fruits & vegetables, use four vegetables to every fruit per meal. Here are other suggested foods to feed once a week: dark, leafy greens (mustard, collard, radish, and turnip greens or tops, kale, cabbage, dandelion leaves-stems-flowers, broccoli, non-treated backyard grasses and weeds, clover), legumes, mulberry and grape leaves, roses, hibiscus, nasturtiums, carnation flowers, cured alfalfa and timothy hay, soaked alfalfa pellets, thawed frozen mixed vegetables (peas, lima beans, carrots, green beans), peas in the pod, cauliflower, soy bean sprouts, radishes, summer and winter squashes, grapes, apples, oranges, pear, peaches, plums, nectarines, dates, all types of melons, strawberries, raspberries, bananas, mangoes, and tomatoes. Fruits should only be offered every third or fourth feeding. As well as pelleted dragon food. Dust food with vitamin/calcium powder every other feeding, and Always remove food four hours after it is offered to prevent spoilage.

Color Discription: typically green in color, splashed with tiny black spots.

Physical Discription: They have a knob on their nose, and distinctive crest on their heads that connects to another large crest on their tails that resembles a fin. They have stout powerful legs that are good for climbing, running, and swimming, allowing them to evade predators easily.

Temperatures/Humidity: Daytime temperature should be 75 - 85 degrees fahrenheit, with a basking area about 90 - 95 degrees fahrenheit and a cooler area about 80 - 85 degrees fahrenheit. Nighttime temperature should remain between 65 and 75 degrees. to adequately simulate a day & night cycle. The humidity for these lizards should be kept at or near 70 percent.

Breeding/Reproduction:

Cage Setup: Sailfins need a relatively large enclosure, at least a 55 gallon terrarium for adults, and for some individuals this will be too small.

Water: An easily accessible deep water dish works best with dragons. Water should be changed daily.

Special Needs: A screen lid is essential for proper air exchange. An undertank heater should be placed on the same end of the tank as the basking lamp. Sailfin dragons require ultraviolet lighting to maintain proper health. Ultraviolet lighting is recommended for 12 hours per day.

Special Note: They are known for their ability to swim and tread water, and they can skip with ease across the surface of the water, quickly getting away from larger predators. These lizards are best kept singularly. 1
