| Ecstasy a very short story Incredible warmth filled her as music pulsed like the heartbeat of some living thing. She was the universe; music enveloped her like the comforting glow of the stars. There were others there with her, bodies slowly moving just as the rhythms of heaven moved, mimicking the ebb and flow of the universe. The world was perfect. The inevitable crash was the farthest thing from her mind. Glowsticks dimmed and twirled, passing in front of her eyes in a dizzying yet wonderful dance. The thud and electric whir of the musicbeautiful, comforting, and regenerative musicseemed to cradle her in some unseen embrace. It made her alive again, and the drug in her blood sustained her. The drug warmed her very soul and opened her eyes to the beauty of all life. It was easy to love when ecstasy guided your very breath. Here, somebody murmured in her ear as they passed, smiling seductively as they shoved further through the mass of writhing bodies. Wicked, beautiful laughter fell from her lips as she felt the small pill in her hand. Yes, tonight she was soaring with angels in heaven. Music wrapped around her, caressed her skin and breathed life into her soul. The pill passed easily down her throat, and water trickled down her lips as she swallowed as much as she could. They were all one. Moving, dancing, breathing, living as one single organism in a sustained moment of time. Ravers moved together in angelic unison, sharing heaven with one another as the electricity continued to pulse and radiate around them. The glowsticks continued to dance in front of her eyes. Nothing existed outside of this beautiful universe. Perfection was alive and well. And her body still looked beautiful as it lay lifeless on the floor; a star that had burned out all too soon and had faded into the still moving universe. |
