"Blue Eyes"

Chief Thomas E. Nichols Was Born in Atmore, Alabama in 1953, but he has been a lifelong resident of Santa Rosa County. He attended Milton High School and Pensacola Junior College. Chief Nichols is married to the former Miss Laura Wheeler.They have two sons, Tom 15, and Sam 14. Tom is a Professional Land Surveyor and owns Benchmark Surveying and Engineering Services in Pace, Florida. Chief Nichols has been affiliated with the Creek Indian People for many years. His Indian Ancestral history dates back to the friendly Creek Indians who fought alongside with the Americans in the War of 1812. His Ancestry is documented in the Creek censor of 1832. Chief Nichols is from the Wind Clan.

In 1994, Clan Chief Thomas E. Nichols, became the twenty-third Native American in Florida to be granted Minority Status in the State of Florida, and the first Native American minority-owned Business owner in Santa Rosa County. Also in 1994, Chief Nichols was elected President of the Creek Confederation of Florida, and Served in this position for one year.

The Santa Rosa County Creek Indian Tribe, Inc. Meets on the fourth Thursday of each month. The meetings are held at the Milton Public Library at 6:30 P.M.
