Dear Friend,
Thank you for your kind
words and for your interest in Social Philosophy.
For a brief explanation,
allow me to borrow your own words and tell you, that social philosophy
is like the "sun in the morning" that lights up the mountains, like "the
wind in the forest" that draws a melody from the trees, it is,
in fact, like an up-current on a hot summer day that takes the eagle
to unknown heights, where serenity reigns and earth's horizon melts with the
sky.
Social philosophy begins
with the courage to doubt, the strength to negate,
the wisdom to relate and the humility to surpass
your own self by applying the principle of doubt, negation
and relation to the very ground on which you stand, with which you
move, and which you aspire to transcend.
Affirm yourself:
Be conscious and realize, that you are a product of your specific space
and time, of your natural and social, historical conditions and circumstances,
which generally are perverted ones, alienated and alienating ones, and
which deprive you of a potentially emancipatory essence and existence.
After education, religion, tradition, norms and "values" are done with you,
after society has bent and deformed your tree of life beyond recognition,
you are but a hollow vessel, filled with a content that is not
you, or is not, what you could have been, if given a chance.
- At best, and if you were and are, for ssome reason or the other in your
life, a tree hard to bend, you may still be able to recognize, that you
are what you are "by social order", but that you are not only
a perfect blue copy of society, but "more", potentially much, much "more".
Thus, dare to
doubt the "wisdoms" of society, dare to question the absolute truths
they have taught you from the cradle on, be different,
have the strength to negate society and therewith yourself
as a product of the former, and dare to rely upon what little may be
left of your very own power to act, think and excel beyond the established
truths.
Now, know yourself,
recognize yourself twofoldedly: on the one hand as a product of perverted
society, an individual carrier of societal norms, "values", traditions
and "knowledge" so inexorably resident in your mind that these
seem almost impossible to overcome, a n d on
the other hand, as your own creation according to the steps you take
to negate perverted society and its established truths,
including your own established self. Relate these
two parts of yourself, take both of them with you
and start to fly:
Relate your acts and
thoughts, do, what you have never before done in your life and will
never do afterwards, think, what you have never before thought in your
life and will never think afterwards, renew your acts and thoughts
constantly, be your own Phoenix, that is, surpass your own self,
leave the cage of endemic human alienation and fly towards human
emancipation: act, think and excel of, by and for yourself.
Just like science is
the tool to penetrate natural reality, philosophy - our own philosophy
- is our tool and guide to penetrate social reality
(therefore, "social philosophy"), to know it, affirm it, negate it, and
to emerge beyond it, without chains, without illusions.
Jutta.
