Unexpected Flowers

25th September, 2003

Friends,

Inmidst of the daily avalanche of ever discouraging "news", inmidst of the usual, political turmoil and our continuous efforts to contribute our grain of sand to the strengthening of a political and social process that seeks to promote a somewhat more humane economic and social order, inmidst of the many daily battles, however small the perspectives of "victory", almost unnoticed the seeds of our thoughts and deeds fall onto fertile ground, sprout and blossom, and all of a sudden an unexpected, beautiful flower enchants our minds and hearts.
Here is the surprising result of many a profound, philosophical and political discussion I had with one of Franz' postgraduate students, daughter of a Venezuelan author.
"To dedicate my work to Jutta Schmitt is to fortify her friendly relationship with my beloved daughter!!
Zaadia: In addition to the book,
send her a fraternal embrace.
With affection,
Ligia Elena Rojas,
Writer."
