Opinions Opinions

My mother told me once that it was good to have opinions but bad to be opinionated.  I wasnt sure how to take that really.  I mean everyone has an opinion on everything.  Whether it be "i simply dont care" which is an opinion or "I care very deeply".  So how can someone have an opinion on alot of subjects without being labeled opinionated.  I rightly don't know.  I do know i am a Realist which sometimes gets confused with a pesimist.  I see the world how it is and face the fact that it wont be changing anytime soon unless the Lord Jesus Christ decides its time for us to go.  I know that a person has to stand somewhere on everything.  You are either for it or against it cause usually people who stand in the middle get run over by one side or the other.  You may not care at all about a subject but i bet you can see a side to stand on.  Of course with me i am also a dreamer so i still see the world as Black and White with very few shades of Grey.  As a church billboard once said "Right is still Right even if no one is doing it".  I have a Morals rooted deep in the Southern Baptist denomination though i consider my self a pretty liberal christian.  People can say what the want but the bible has been the same for centuries and is still the word of God and its not going to change for you or me.  But it is also an ever evolving Text in a way.  I believe it was Jesus who said to Peter but dont quote me on it but he said keep it sacred on earth and so shall it be in heaven.  So its not like its ever going to be wrong but i do think we are getting away from it.  I dont know if he bible tackles the problem of opinions but i figure if you can base your opinion on what the Bible says is right then you are right no matter if anyone is doing it or not.  Of course this is just my opinon but i dont think i am wrong!
