PRAYER is PRAYER...isnt it?
While i worked at camp this summer a friend introduced me to a christian comedian, via a CD, named Mark Warnky.  He told the story of a time when he got hurt performing in a church half full of Baptists and half Episcopalian.  It ended with someone wisely calling an ambulence but the troubling part ,which was supposed to be the funny part i believe, was the fact that the Baptists and Episcopalians couldnt seem to decide how to pray for him.
Ok this seems somewhat rudamentary to me.  You close your eyes or open em if you so choose and you talk to God.  Seems like a simple concept but my eyes were open to the problem at hand.  Such a small difference as to whether to pray for total healing or for just the strength to get by caused Mark to have to wait for far to long for some medical attention.
Prayer is still prayer isnt it.  I mean it hasnt changed much in the past 2 or 3 thousand years has it?  If so i think i missed that email.  Whether said outloud or quietly to ones self, shouted from the heavens or mumbled in the middle of a test, sung or chanted or just a thought in the wind to our heavenly father its all the same thing.  Its a conversation with God.  And for those in Mark's case i think they had some hang up on this.  God didnt say there couldnt be two prayers.  Infact i believe he tells us in the Bible that we should pray always.  So whether someone wants to pray for healing or stregnth to endure suffering or pray for joy or sorrow I believe all you need to do is talk to God.  For by doing that you are Praying.  Of course, that is just my opinion i could be wrong.
