My previous Positions

  • From October 1998 to December 1999 I worked with Tecnomen in Espoo (Finland) that is a leading force in the Unified-Messaging-Services business. I started at our headquarters in Espoo as a System and Software Testing Engineer in the R&D Department. I was in charge of testing Tecnomen's software, which comprised all kind of Unified-Messaging-Services products. The products were mainly sold to GSM network operators in more than 50 different countries all over the world. The team I was working in had 10 members. The projects took usually about 4 months. I worked in Tecnomen's own labaratory. For load testing I was using a call generator from the American company Ameritech. The Operation & Maintanance Center (OMC) was a Sun Workstation running Solaris. After 10 months in Finland, I moved to Tecnomen's German subsidiary in Dreieich near Frankfurt, where I worked as a Project Engineer, responsible for maintaining and installing the software at the sites of the customers in Central Europe. Most of the time I was working off-shore, at the Austrian Mobilkom, what was the biggest customer of my team.

  • From the beginning of the year 2000 until August 2000 I worked as a consultant at Siemens' R&D headquarters in Munich, Germany in the area "GSM & GPRS Basestation, System & Software Testing", testing the BSC and BTS software of the Siemens Basestation at the Siemens Labaratory. (With the GSM-configuration as well as with the GPRS-configuration.) I was using the protocol analyzer K1205 from Tectronix and the MGTSi2000 from Tekelec (test tool that is simulating an entire GSM network). I was in a team of 9 engineers. The duration of projects depended on the realease of the next software version, what took about 3 weeks.

  • From September 2000 until April 2001 I worked with Sony DTCE (Digital Telecommunication Europe) in Munich, Germany in the Software Testing & Software Integration Group. This group had 18 members. Sony DTCE is developing the hardware and software of Sony's mobile phones. I was doing Software Testing in the following areas: Data calls, MMI (Man Machine Interface) both manually and automatic. Launching and monitoring tests according to the GSM specifications with the CRTC from Rohde & Schwarz. Field testing in South Germany (tracing the air interface). The duration of a project depended on the time of shipment of the next phone, what varied heavily.
