Jurassic Park III: Danger Zone! is a visually pleasing board game interlaced with arcade-style games. An earthquake has destroyed the Jurassic Park research lab's supply of dinosaur DNA. You must shoot the correct types of dinosaur with darts in order to retrieve the DNA the labs need to save the dinosaurs from extinction.

Players use 4x4 trucks as game pieces to drive around the game board. Each space on the board represents different events, from the simple losing of a turn by driving into deep mud or quicksand, to the D.A.R.T space, where you're transported to one of the arcade games.

To win the game you must collect all of the needed DNA samples. Sounds simple, but there are plenty of obstacles. Many of the spaces you land on will take you to arcade-style games, where you can win needed supplies, cash, or DNA, or just as easily lose these precious items. Some of the supplies, from medical kits to extra sets of tires for your truck, can get you out of perilous situations within the game. For example, in one mini-game, you must sneak past a Tyrannosaurus Rex. If you fail, you'll find yourself in the hospital tent, losing turns until you spin the right number, buy your way out, or use one of the medical supplies you won earlier.

Jurassic Park III: Danger Zone! is well suited for the younger gaming crowd because of its ease of play, and snappy graphics and sound. Making it even easier is a voiceover that tells you what you need to do, and explains how each mini-arcade game works. No need to dig through documentation to figure out how to play.

As a bonus, Danger Zone! includes a little utility called Runaway Spino, a desktop dino that walk across your screen from time to time. Spino is really a demo for an additional game that can be purchased separately. So, if you leave it on your desktop, your kids may start bugging you to buy another game.

Pro: Danger Zone! is an involving, easy-to-play game for kids. Graphics and sound are well done, and game controls are simple.

Con: This action-themed game is surprisingly lacking in action. Danger Zone! includes a number of "extras" that in most cases are just canned ads for other products.
