This is a faux sequel that "hatched" after reading, and is a nerd shrine to The Lost World, (the book), in which Sarah turns out to be quite the heroic leading-character and pretty much saves the day for the rest of the crew. I thought she could definitely carry a sequel of her own. It's flagrantly splashy and over dramatic like a 30's pulp comic, a female Indiana Jones kind of thing, but there might be at least a few strands of DNA in there, somewhere?
How I lost my purse at Jurassic Park started out as a prank actually, the thing about Sarah triumphing in the face of danger, only to realize her true motivation is getting back her lost purse.
A little known eccentricity, since Sarah spends a great deal of her time in the bush, she keeps an expensive purse as a reminder there is still culture in the world. It's her own little piece of "civility", like the pocket watch in Castaway or Holmes' violin. There was also a lot more I wanted to add, the Lap Top, The Chameleons, Lewis is even more sinister. In his quest for vengeance he fashions a replacement mechanical arm from old InGen parts and strikes fear around the island, poachers, maybe lost tribesmen, that kind of thing. I really wanted to elaborate more on the gadgets too. Sarah doesn't really get to use the lap top, raft or boat much in this story. Then there's the EOC device and the Reverse Parachute. I had to hurry up and use them before the story ran out. They should really go into the next chapter.
