Name- Ilana Y. (that's all you need to know..
;))
Birthday- November 1, 1983
Geographical location- Israel, since 1990 when I moved from the Former Soviet Union
Marital status- Married with 15 kids. ~Just kidding!!!~ Single.. still looking for that special someone, unlike all those unspecial people I've met so far ;o)
Languages- Hebrew, Russian, English and some 5-6 words in all the other languages.
Hobbies - Internet, drawing, music (mostly
just listen), comedy (but no one ever gets my sarcasm) Astronomy (did you notice the graphics on this site?), photography,
writing things with brackets / internet abbreviations/ 3 dots in the end &
more...
Hopes For The Future - Begin a new life
on another planet... this one sucks!
Motto For Life - "Carpe Diem", especially true when you live in a place where you could be dead tomorrow
The most important lesson I learned - Trust murphy!
Beliefs - I'm an atheist, I don't believe in any God and nobody on earth will ever convince me at the existance of that mythological being. From personal experience, believing in "God" makes more corrupt people than "holy" ones. Anyway I still like to talk with all kinds of people, nevermind what they believe, my only request is that you give me the same respect I give you and do not try to "turn me into a believer". It won't work and it's just plain annoying.... I found out a lot of people seem to think that they have the power to turn a none-believer like me into a kosher chirstian / jew / muslim / whatever. Now for all the religious people reading this, stop and think for a second, would anyone ever be able t convince you to stop believing in God? I know the answer is "no" - the same goes for both sides.
What I do believe in: you got it! life on other planets! :o) Well I don't know if any aliens ever visit earth, but I'm 99.999999% sure there are many other populated planets out there... You know the logic explanation, I mean out of the billions of stars, and the billions of solar systems surrounding them, it would be almost impossible that none of the planets in those systems could have similar conditions to Earth... there must be a huge number of populated planets out there, it's just frustrating thinking that we might never get to meet any of them, because reality is not a sci-fi show and the kind of distances I'm talking about aren't possible for a human to cross even if he's going way faster than the speed of light.
And another thing, I don't believe humanity as it is will exist much longer. Just look at the situation worldwide, barbarians have more weapons than brains, with fanatic leaders calling them to commit horrendous crimes in the name of "god". There's nothing the "enlightened" people of the western world can, or even 'want' to do about it. While they negotiate amongst themselves, the other side is developing it's future terroristic networks. While peace will always be the ultimate goal (at least among civilized people), we have to also remember you can't expect to achieve peace from people who only want war... I hope this clears up my political inclination without sinking into too much unnecessary details. I hate dwelling into politics, especially when it's discussed with people who haven't got the slightest clue what it's like to live in a country where terrorism is more common than normal traffic accidents. (Not that we have little of those...)
Pet: No more hamsters. I'm officially an adult and my hamster days are over... though I do miss the little critters. They're better than most humans...
Favorite
Shows - "Crime Scene Investigation", "Married With Children" was always my fav comedy, and... I'm a little ashamed to admit, I've grown rather accustomed to "Days Of Our Lives". Before you laugh, know this is the only soap I ever watch!!!
Favorite Movies: K-PAX (that very under-appreciated Kevin Spacey / Jeff Bridges movie), Gloomy Sunday (a beautiful German movie by the original name "Ein Lied von Liebe und Tod" or something alike), The Closet ("Le Placard" - funniest French movie I've seen lately, much better than cheesy Amelie!), American Psycho (very stylish) & the Sixth Sense (you all know what's that about!)... Well most movies are alright with me as long as they do NOT feature Jim Carey or Robbin Williams.
Favorite Music - I listen to almost all
the genres as long as the songs are good, but 80s new wave is probably my favorite style... if you want me to name some
of my favorite artists I'll have to say A-ha (Morten Morten Morten!!! :) ), Roxette, Savage Garden /Darren Hayes, The Smiths, Meredith Brooks, Third Eye Blind, Gin Blossoms & much more...
Favorite Hour - Anytime between 12 - 5 am..
I'm a nighty kind of person.. (too bad stupid teachers can't take that as
a fair excuse for being late on daily basis)
Favorite weather - Rainy days, you know
the blue-gray ones that are really nice to spend at home and think about things... As odd as it sounds, rainy days actually make me happy. It's like the world is washing some of it's dirt. On the other hand it's not half as fun when you're outside during
those days, especially around school trying to get into a crowded bus designed
for 50 people but currently trying to stuff yourself in there as the 301st
student without having the bus' door locked on your poor school bag...
Things I like: - Hamsters, vacations... Artistic, creative, intelligent, people who don't go after everyone else but try to think for themselves. People who have the courage to stand up against their "superiors" and say what they think, people who don't like the school system but like learning on their own... most importantly people who never kiss teachers' @$$e$, nevermind what the price could be!!!
Things I don't like - School, teachers, school
trips, homework, exams, people who abuse animals (the @#$%&*$@ jerks!),
racists, terrorists, people who justify terrorism, sales men, those AWFUL ad banners popping up on my site, my guestbook's server that doesn't work half of the time...
If you bothered to read everything on this page... it must mean you're very bored :)
