And The Curtain Falls

And once again, I lie awake
On the moonlit plateau,
The seashore reaching out to me
Pointing towards tomorrow.
So I turn my back and view before me
The Destiny I face
And I blink away the tears
My jaded mindfulness creates.

The waves do try to pull me back,
I know I have to walk away;
I wade to my tomorrow with the moonlight on my face.
I smile, although I lack
The heart to keep me smiling 'til that day
And I blink away the hopeful tears my Destiny creates.
